THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO WHICH
REFERENCE IS HERE MADE FOR ALL PURPOSES,
MAKING SUCH FRANCHISE AS EXTENDED
BINDING ON THE GRANTEE, AND BINDING
UPON THE SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS OF
SOUTHWESTERN OIL'AND REFINING COMPANY;
PROVIDING FOR ACCEPTANCE BY SOUTHWESTERN
OIL AND REFINING COMPANY; EROVIDING,AN
EFFECTIVE DATES AND PROVI_DjNG_EOR
PUBLICATION. `
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
Section 1, There is hereby granted to Southwestern
Oil and Refining Company, hereinafter sometimes called
grantee, an extension for a period'of five (5) years from
the effective date of this ordinance, of the existing
franchise to lay, construct, operate, maintain, repair
and remove a pipe line 2 -7/8" in diameter for the trans-
portation of natural gas within and upon Nueces Bay
Boulevard, West Broadway Street, Floral Street, Palm Drive,
Van Loan Avenue, Stillman Avenue, Peabody Avenue, Kennedy
Avenue, Hatch Street, Summers Street and Lexington Avenue,
to the extent that said streets are traversed by the
description of the centerline of said pipe line right -of -way
described in Ordinance No. 6264, appearing in the Ordinance
8187
Records of the City of Corpus Christi to which reference
is here made for all purposes, including a description of
the route of said pipe line.* ;y_, j., ; .7
Section 2: The terms and provisions of the
existing franchise as extended hereby shall be binding in
all things`upon Southwestern 'Oil `and, Ref ining Company, its
successors and assigns, in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance.
Section 3. within thirty (30) days of the final
passage of this ordinance, Southwestern Oil and Refining
Company shall file its written acceptance of same with the
City Secretary, and pay a fee of $150.00, together with the
costs of publication required by the City Charter as a part
of the procedure of obtaining an extension of a franchise.,
Section 4. Upon payment of fees and publication
charges and the filing of the written acceptance provided in
Section 3 hereof, this ordinance shall immediately become
effective as'of the date of its final adoption by the City
Council.
Section 5. A copy of this ordinance shall be
published in the Corpus Christi Caller- Times, the official
newspaper of the City of Corpus Christi, within five (5) days
following each of the three (3) readings of this ordinance,
and the expense of such publication shall be paid by the
Grantee.
