AN ORDINANCE _GRANTING TO SOUTHWESTERN OIL &
REFINING COMPANY AN EXTENSION FOR A PERIOD OF
FIVE (5) YEARS OF THE EXISTING FRANCHISE TO
LAY, CONSTRUCT, OPERATE MAINTAIN, REPAIR AND
REMOVE A PIPE LINE 14" IN DIAMETER FOR THE
TRANSPORTATION OF GASOLINE: A PIPE LINE 14" IN
PIPE LINE 6" IN DIAMETER FOR THE
OF
LLNE OF THE RIGHT OF WAY OF NUECES BAY BOULE-
VARD WITHIN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS,
FROM THE POINT AT WHICH THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE
OF THAT CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 30.64
ACRES CONVEYED BY BARNSDALL OIL COMPANY TO SAID
SOUTHWESTERN OIL & REFINING COMPANY BY DEED
DATED APRIL 25, 1947, RECORDED IN VOLUME 365,
PAGE 324, DEED RECORDS, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS,
INTERSECTS SAID NUECES BAY BOULEVARD, AND THEN
ON AND ALONG SAID NUECES BAY BOULEVARD TO THE
SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE
SAN ANTONIO. UVALDE & GULF RAILROAD; SUCH FRAN-
CHISE BEING GRANTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4669, RE-
CORDED IN VOLUME 256, PAGE 599, OF THE ORDINANCE
RECORDS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS FINAL-
LY PASSED ON NOVEMBER 7, 1956; MAKING SUCH FRAN-
CHISE AS EXTENDED BINDING UPON SAID GRANTEE,'ITS
SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS• PROVIDING FOR ACCEPTANCE
THEREOF BY GRANTEE: PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION
BE SIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby granted to Southwestern
Oil & Refining Company, hereinafter sometimes called grantee,
an extension for a period of five (5) years from the effective
date of this ordinance, of the existing franchise to lay, con-
struct, operate, maintain, repair and remove a pipe line 14"
in diameter for the transportation of gasoline; a pipe line
14" in diameter for the transportation of fuel oil; a pipe
line 6" in diameter for the transportation of heating oil; a
pipe line 6" in diameter for the transportation of naptha;

a pipe line 6" in diameter for the transportation of kerosene;
and a pipe line 6" in diameter for the transportation of fuel
oil, along the west boundary line of the right of way of
Nueces Bay Boulevard within the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
from the point at which the south boundary line of that cer-
tain tract of land containing 30.64 acres conveyed by Barnsdall
Oil Company to said Southwestern Oil & Refining Company by deed
dated April 25, 1947, recorded in Volume 365, page 324, Deed
Records, Nueces County, Texas, intersects said Nueces Bay Boule-
vard, and then on and along said Nueces Bay Boulevard to the
south boundary line of the right -of -way of the San Antonio,
Uvalde and Gulf Railroad, reference being here made to said
franchise for all purposes, including a description of the
route of such pipe lines.
SECTION 2. The terms and provisions of the existing
franchise granted by Ordinance No. 4669, recorded in Volume
256, at page 599, of the Ordinance Records of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, as read and finally passed on November
7, 1956, as hereby extended, shall be binding in all things
upon Southwestern Oil & Refining Company, its successors and
assigns, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. Within thirty (30) days of the final
passage of this ordinance, Southwestern Oil & Refining Company
shall file its written acceptance of same with the City Secre-
tary, and pay a fee of $150, together with the costs of publi-
cation, as required by the City Charter to comply with the
procedure to obtain an extension of a franchise.
SECTION 4. Upon the payment of such fees and publi-
cation charges and the filing of written acceptance as pro-
vided in Section 3 hereof, this ordinance shall immediately

become effective as of the date of its final adoption by the
City Council.
SECTION 5. A copy of this ordinance shall be published
in the Corpus Christi Caller- Times, the official newspaper of
the City of Corpus Christi, within five (5) days following each
of the three (3) readings of this ordinance, and the expense
of such publication shall be paid by the Grantee.
The foregoing ordinance was read for the first time

Dear Sir:
Reference is made to Ordinance No. 8253
enacted by the City of Corpus Christi on November
30, 1966, granting to Southwestern Oil & Refining
Company, a five -year extension of an existing fran-
chise covering certain pipelines more particularly
described therein within the City of Corpus Christi.
This letter is written to evidence the
formal acceptance by Southwestern Oil & Refining
Company of the terms and provisions of such ordinance
and its agreement to be bound thereby.
Enclosed you will find the company's check
payable to the City of Corpus Christi in the amount
of $150 representing the fee provided in Section 3
of such ordinance, and upon receipt from you of the
amount of publication costs remittance will be made
therefor immediately.

same manner as you have done on other pipe line ex-
tensions for Southwestern Oil & Refining Company.
