HomeMy WebLinkAbout08318 ORD - 01/11/19670 VMP:1/11/67 TEXAS: u AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY NO. 4181, THE SUM OF $5,876.50, OF WHICH $8,750 IS FOR THE REAL ESTATE, AND $126.50 IS FOR TITLE EXPENSE, RECORDING FEES AND RELATED COSTS THERETO, ALL APPLICABLE TO BAYFRONT ARTS AND SCIENCE PARK PROJECT; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACTS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, FOR ACQUISITION OF SAID PARCEL NO. 3 FOR BAYFRONT ARTS AND SCIENCE PARK FROM THE OWNER, DR. THOMAS W. EDWARDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED AND REAPPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY N0. 4151, THE SUM OF $8,576.50, OF WHICH $5,750 IS FOR THE REAL ESTATE AND $126.50 IS FOR TITLE EXPENSE, RECORDING FEES AND RELATED COSTS THERETO, ALL APPLICABLE TO BAYFRONT ARTS AND SCIENCE PARK PROJECT, SAID PARCEL BEING DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: LOT N0. THREE (3) IN BLOCK NO. ONE HUNDRED FOUR (1O4), OF THE BEACH PORTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN VOLUME °A °, PAGE 3, MAP RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS. SECTION 2. THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACTS, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WITH THE OWNER OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL, DR. THOMAS W. EDWARDS. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE AND REAPPROPRIATE THE SUMS HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED AND TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF THE SAID PARCEL FOR THE 13AYFRONT ARTS AND SCIENCE PARK CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE ////t AY OF JANUARY, 1967- ATTEST-'-1 CITY SECREtA �APP OVED AS LEGAL FORM T I AY OF JANUARY, 1967: MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS CITY ATTDRNL'Y 7 �31� • • CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS / DAY OF X19 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE- GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO- DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
