A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, A WORLDS FAIR WILL BE HELD IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, TO
BE KNOWN AS HEMISFAIR, DURING THE YEAR 1968; AND
WHEREAS, THE VISITORS TO SAID HEMISFAIR SHOULD BE INFORMED OF
THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT THE GULF COAST AREA OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND
THAT THE CLOSEST POINT BY AIR OR AUTOMOBILE IS CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND
WHEREAS, THERE ARE MANY POINTS OF INTEREST IN THE GULF COAST
AREA, OF WHICH AREA CORPUS CHRISTI IS THE CENTER, WHICH SHOULD BE MADE
KNOWN TO THE VISITORS TO THE HEMISFAIR AT SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS; AND
WHEREAS, IT IS DEEMED NECESSARY TO CREATE A COMMITTEE TO BE
KNOWN AS THE CORPUS CHRISTI COMMITTEE FOR HEMISFAIR, TO COORDINATE A
CREATIVE PROGRAM FOR INFORMING AND ATTRACTING HEMISFAIR VISITORS TO COME
TO CORPUS CHRISTI:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT A SPECIAL COMMITTEE BE, AND THE SAME IS
HEREBY CREATED, TO BE KNOWN AS THE "CORPUS CHRISTI COMMITTEE FOR HEMISFAIRII,
WHICH COMMITTEE SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY AND OFFICIAL SANCTION OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO COORDINATE A CREATIVE PROGRAM FOR ATTRACTING
HEMISFAIR VISITORS TO COME TO CORPUS CHRISTI AND TO INFORM HEMISFAIR
VISITORS OF THE ATTRACTIONS OF THE GULF COAST AREA OF TEXAS, OF WHICH AREA
CORPUS CHRISTI IS THE CENTER;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI COMMITTEE FOR
HEMISFAIR BE COMPOSED OF THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS:

TO THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS CREATED.

SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SIiALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
