WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 4, 1966, DULY
N0. $OOIF, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUCH APPLICATIONS AND
CONTRACTS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO OBTAIN A GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND ACCOMPLISH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITIES PROJECT; AND
WHEREAS, THE ESTIMATED DEVELOPMENT COST OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT
WAS $304,939; AND
WHEREAS, PRELIMINARY PLANS HAVE NOW BEEN COMPLETED WHICH INDICATE
THAT THE COST WILL BE GREATER THAN ORIGINALLY ANTICIPATED:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE APPLICATION PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT BE AMENDED TO INCREASE THE
ESTIMATED DEVELOPMENT COST TO $370,000.
SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND
DIRECTED TO EXECUTE SUCH AMENDED APPLICATION AND SUCH CONTRACT OR CON-
TRACTS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO BRING ABOUT THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE '
NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITIES PROJECT.
SECTION 3. THAT IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS, THE SAID RESOLUTION OF
MAY 4, 1966, BEING N0. VOO4, BE REAFFIRMED.
SECTION 4. THAT THE URGENT NEED TO AMEND THE APPLICATION
PREVIOUSLY MADE SO AS TO MAKE POSSIBLE THE PROMPT COMPLETION OF THE
PROPOSED NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE
PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO-
DUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL
MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH
PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER

RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS RESOLUTION BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE
OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM
