AU RIZING PAYMENT OF FINAL ESTIMATE NO.1 DATED JULY 26, 19 7, 1 THE AMO INT 0 COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, SAID PAYMENT TO BE MADE FROM NO. 291 PARK BOND FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMFORT STATION AT WEST GUTH PARK, AS PERFORMED BY THE CONTRACTOR, WALLS -COLE LUMBER R�� COMPANY, UNDER THE CON- TRACT DATED JUNE 7, 1967, AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 8480, HAVING BEEN PERFORM- ED AND COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF THE CONTRACT, PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS THEREIN CONTAINED, AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS HAVING INSPECTED THE SAME AND CERTIFIED TO THE COMPLETION OF SAID WORK IN AC- CORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, THE WORK AFORESAID IS HEREBY FOUND TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND IS HERE AND NOW ACCEPTED AND RECEIVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 2. THAT FINAL PAYMENT IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AS DUE UNDER THE CONTRACT AND AS SET OUT IN FINAL ESTIMATE NO. 1, ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, PREPARED BY T:EC DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, DATED JULY 26, 1967 IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,944.00, FROM FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED OUT OF ACTIVITY N0. 291 PARK BOND FUNDS. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY FOR COMPLETION OF SUCH WORK BY SAID ACCEPT- ` ANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT IMMEDIATELY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND NECESS- 8547 I(- ,.
