PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMER-
GENCY.
WHEREAS, IT IS DEEMED APPROPRIATE TO EXTEND THE SUMMER INCENTIVE
GAS AIR CONDITIONING RATE SCHEDULES TO INCLUDE THE MONTHS OF APRIL AND
NOVEMBER; AND
WHEREAS, CUSTOMERS USING GAS AIR COOLING AND AIR CONDITIONING
EQUIPMENT AFTER JULY 31, 1967, SHOULD BE GRANTED AN EXTENSION OF THE SUMMER
INCENTIVE GAS AIR CONDITIONING GAS RATES IN THE CONSECUTIVE SUMMER MONTHS 1y

OF APRIL THRU NOVEMBER.
Y NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 1
SECTION 1. THAT SECTION 35 -46 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE,
1958, AS AMENDED, AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCES NOS. 7303,
ADOPTED JULY 29, 1964, AND 7773, ADOPTED OCTOBER 27, 1965, BE AND THE SAME
IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
WHENEVER THE CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR MONTHS "MAY 1ST THRU OCTOBER 31ST"
APPEARS IT SHALL HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS:
"APRIL 1ST THRU NOVEMBER 30TH ".
WHENEVER THE CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR MONTHS "NOVEMBER 1ST THRU
APRIL 30TH11 APPEARS IT SHALL HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS:
"DECEMBER 15T THRU MARCH 31ST ".
SECTION 2. THAT THE CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR MONTHS OF APRIL THRU
NOVEMBER, SET FORTH IN SECTION 1 FOR "ONE AND TWO FAMILY RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER
GAS RATES "; GENERAL RATE CUSTOMERS; "CHURCH, SCHOOL, HOSPITAL AND GOVERNMENTAL
AGENCY CUSTOMERS" SHALL BE EFFECTIVE FROM AND AFTER JULY 311 1967, DURING
SAID APPLICABLE MONTHS.

SECTION 3. IF FOR ANY REASON ANY SECTION, PARAGRAPH, SUBDIVISION,
CLAUSE, PHRASE, OR PROVISION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE HELD INVALID, IT
SHALL NOT AFFECT ANY VALID PROVISIONS OF THIS OR ANY OTHER ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO WHICH THESE HIS
AND REGULATIONS RELATE.
SECTION 4. NO CHARGES ACCRUING PRIOR TO JULY 31, 1967, SHALL BE
ALTERED, RELEASED, RELINQUISHED OR REVOKED BY THIS ORDINANCE. ALL OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATING TO RATES AND CHARGES FOR GAS OR SERVICES FURNISHED BY
THE GAS';DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED OTHER THAN AS HEREIN PROVIDED. i
SECTION 5. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL
PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AFTER FINAL PASSAGE, WHICH
PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF
THE ORDINANCE.
SECTION 6. THE NECESSITY FOR IMMEDIATELY REVISING THE GAS RATES
OF THE CITY —OWNED GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL,
W AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST,
AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED, AND THAT THIS
ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT
AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE o4OF 1967.

NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
