HomeMy WebLinkAbout08595 ORD - 09/13/1967AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MAP OF THE CITY DESIGNATED AS "CORPUS CHRISTI DRILLING BLOCKS, MAY 31, 195611, BY REDE- FINING DRILLING BLOCKS 120, 124, 125, 127 AND 529 AS HEREINAFTER MORE FULLY DESCRIBED; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: Section 1. That the Map of the City designated as "Corpus Christi Drilling Blocks, May 31, 1956 ", is hereby amended by re- vising that area shown on said map as being Drilling Blocks 120, 124, 125, 127 and 529 so as to establish as Drilling Block 120, the following described area: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Burns Street and the southwest right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, this line also, being the southwest right -of -way line of West Broadway; Thence in a southwesterly direction along the center- line of Burns Street and the extension thereof to a point in the Josephine Sparks tract, said point being at the intersection of the extension of the- center- line of Burns Street and the extension of a line that runs along the back of Lots 1 through 7, Block 1, Clarkson Addition; Thence in a southerly direction along the above de- scribed line that runs along the back of Lots 1 through 7, Block 1, Clarkson Addition to the center- line of Lake Street; Thence in a westerly direction along the centerline of Lake Street to the northeast corner of T. C. Ayers Park; Thence in a westerly direction along the north boundary line of T. C. Ayers Park to the most north- erly northwest corner of T. C. Ayers Park; Thence in a northwesterly direction to the southeast corner of the General American Tract No. 1 (contain- ing 18.33 acres and now owned by Southwestern Oil & Refining Company); Thence in a west - northwesterly direction along the southwesterly boundary line of the General American Tract No. 1 and the extension thereof also being along the back property line of Lots 6 through 14, Block 16, Craven Hts. Subdivisionto the southeaster- ly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; 8595 Thence in an east northeasterly direction along the southeasterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the northwesterly boundary line of the General American Tract No. 1 to the south right -of -way line of West Broadway; Thence in an easterly direction along the south right - of -way line of West Broadway to an intersection with the southwesterly right -o£ -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; Thence in a southeasterly direction along the south- westerly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad to the centerline of Burns Street and to the point of beginning, containing 55 acres, more or less; and so as to establish as Drilling Block 124 the following described area: Beginning at a point at the intersection of the center- line of West Broadway and the extension of the west boundary line of the Humble Oil & Refining Company 13.97 acre tract; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the west boundary line of the Humble Oil & Refining Company tract to ,a point in the south right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; Thence in an,easterly direction along the south right - of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad to a point that lies in the south right -of -way line of West Broadway, said point also being the northeast corner of the Salt Flat Tract; Thence in a southwesterly direction along the south right -of -way line of West Broadway, this line also being the north boundaries of the Salt Flat Tract and the General American Tract No. 1 (both of which now belong to Southwestern Oil & Refining Company) to a point in the southeasterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; Thence in a south southwesterly direction along the southeasterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad to the extension of the centerline of Summers Street; Thence in a northwesterly direction along the centerline of Summers Street to the centerline of Kennedy Avenue; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the centerline of Kennedy Avenue to the centerline of West Broadway; Thence along the centerline of West Broadway around a reverse curve and generally in a northwesterly direction to the extension of the west boundary line of the Humble -2- Oil & Refining Company tract and to the point of beginning, containing 43 acres, more or less; and so as to establish as Drilling Block 125 the following described area: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of John Street and Palm Drive; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the center- line of Palm Drive to the centerline of West Broadway; Thence in an easterly direction along the centerline of West Broadway and around a reverse curve to a point in the extension of the centerline of Kennedy Avenue; Thence in a southwesterly direction along the center- line of Kennedy Avenue to a point in the centerline of Summers Street; Thence in a southeasterly direction along the center- line of Summers Street and the extension thereof to a point in the southeasterly right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; - Thence in a southwesterly direction along the south- easterly right -o£ -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad to a point that lies on the extension of a line along the back property line of Lots 8 through 14, Block 16, Craven Hts. Subdivision; Thence in a southeasterly direction along the extension of the line that lies on the back property line of Lots 8 through 14, Block 16, Craven Hts. Subdivision to a point in the centerline of Priour Avenue; Thence in a southwesterly direction along the center- line of Priour Avenue to a point in the centerline of Winnebago Street; Thence in a northwesterly direction along the center- line of Winnebago Street to a point in the centerline of Lexington Avenue; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the center- line of Lexington Avenue to a point in the centerline of John Street;" �- r Thence in a northwesterly direction along the center- line of John Street to a point in the centerline of Palm Drive, which point is the point of beginning; containing 50,acres, more or less; and so as to establish as Drilling Block 127 the following described area: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of North Alameda Street and the centerline of Lake Street; -3- Thence south along the centerline of North Alameda Street to the original centerline of Buffalo Street; Thence west along the original centerline of Buffalo Street to the centerline of Lexington Avenue; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the center- line of Lexington Avenue to the centerline of Winnebago Street; Thence in a southeasterly direction along the center- line of Winnebago Street to the centerline of Priour Avenue; .Thence in a northeasterly direction along the center- line of Priour Avenue to an intersection with the extension of the southwest property line of General American Tract No. 1 (now owned by Southwestern Oil & Refining Company); Thence in an east southeasterly direction along the southwest property line of General American Tract No. 1, this line also being the back property line of Lots S through 14, Block 16, Craven Hts. Subdivision, to the southeast corner of the General American Tract No. 1; Thence in a southeasterly direction to the most north- erly northwest corner of T. C. Ayers Park; Thence in an easterly direction along the north boundary line of T. C. Ayers Park to the northeast corner of T. C. Ayers Park, said corner lying in the centerline of.Lake Street; Thence east along the centerline of Lake Street to the centerline of North Alameda Street and to the point of beginning, containing 68 acres, more or less; and so as to establish as Drilling Block 529 the following described area: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Burns Street and the southwest right -of -way line of West Broadway; Thence in a southeasterly direction along the south- west right -of -way line of West Broadway to the center- line of Jones Street (as it existed before being taken in by Interstate Hwy. 37 right -of -way); Thence in a southwesterly direction along the original centerline of Jones Street to the extension of the centerline of Winnebago Street; Thence west along the centerline of Winnebago Street and the extension thereof, to the centerline of North Alameda Street; -4- Thence north along the centerline of North Alameda Street to the centerline of Lake Street; Thence west along the centerline of Lake Street to a point at the intersection of the centerline of Lake Street and the extension of a line that lies on the back property line of Lots 1 through 7, Block 1, Clarksont Addition; Thence north along the line and extension thereof that lies on the back property line of Lots 1 through 7, Block 1, Clarkson Addition to a point that lies in the Josephine Sparks 1.71 acre tract and in the ex- tension of the centerline of Burns Street; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the center- line of Burns Street and the extension thereof to the southwest right -of -way line of West Broadway and to the point of beginning, containing 76 acres, more or less. Section 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, one time, which pub- lication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance. , Section 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. Section 4. The necessity for immediately amending the Map of the City designated as "Corpus Christi Drilling Blocks, May 31, 1956 ", by revising the area shown on said map as being Drilling Blocks 120, 124, 125, 127 and 529 creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor, having declared that such public emergency and imperative public necessity exist, and having requested that -5- such Charter Rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publica- tion, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, -this the 1;5a day of September, 1967.
