HomeMy WebLinkAbout08643 ORD - 10/25/1967REY:JKH:10 -24 -61 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8294, KNOWN AS THE BAY DRILLING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS AMENDED, BY DELETING THE PRESENT SECTION 14.2 AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A NEW SECTION 1 .2, PROVIDING FOR A BETTER WARNING AND LIGHTING SYSTEM ON BAY STRUCTURES: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Z BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE No. 8294, REFERRED TO AS THE BAY DRILLING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY DELETING THE PRESENT SECTION 14.2, AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A NEW SECTION 14.2, READING AS FOLLOWS: 1114.2. ALL PRODUCTION PLATFORMS SHALL BE LIGHTED WITH A QUICK FLASHING RED SIGNAL (60 FLASHES PER MINUTE) USING A 12 -VOLT, 0.46 AMP SYSTEM OR EQUIVALENT THEREOF. ALL OTHER SURFACE STRUCTURES OR FACILITIES SHALL BE LIGHTED WITH A QUICK FLASHING WHITE SIGNAL (60 FLASHES PER MINUTE) I� WITH A 6 -VOLT 0.46 AMP SYSTEM OR EQUIVALENT THEREOF." $t SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY MAKE THE AFORESAID AMEND- MENT TO THE BAY DRILLING ORDINANCE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERA- TIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO DUCTION NND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM -7 AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE �d DAY OF OCTOBER, 1967.
