AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 199
BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -1 1 AS AMENDED By DEL, ETING
PRESENT SUBPARAGRAPH 3! AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A NEW
SUBPARAGRAPH (9), RELATING TO FEES FOR IMPOUNDING AND
STORAGE OF VEHICLES BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT: REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS: p
SECTION 1. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED,
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -151, AS AMENDED,
BY DELETING THE PRESENT SUBPARAGRAPH (3) AND SUBSTITUTING IN LIEU THEREOF
THE FOLLOWING SUBPARAGRAPH (3):
"(3) UPON THE PAYMENT OF A STORAGE FEE OF $1.00 FOR THE FIRST
24 HOURS, OR PART THEREOF, AND AN ADDITIONAL $1.00 FOR EACH SUCCEEDING 24
HOURS, OR PART THEREOF, WHILE SUCH VEHICLE IS IMPOUNDED, WHICH STORAGE FEE
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE REASONABLE." "
SECTION 2. THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH ARE HEREBY REPEALED.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE HEREINABOVE AMENDMENT AT THE
EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC
NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY
EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS
ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT
AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED, THIS THE /a,�- DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1967.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
