AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AND DELIVER A QUITCLAIM DEED WHICH RELEASES A ROADWAY
EASEMENT, GRANTED FEBRUARY 22, 1961, BY GUARANTY TITLE
AND TRUST COMPANY AS TRUSTEE FOR THE ESTATE OF OSCAR
C. B. NAU, DECEASED, FOR ACCESS TO A SANITARY FILL AR
AND IS RECORDED IN VOLUME 917, PAGE 264, DEED RECORDS OF
NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; SAID EASEMENT BEING NO LONGER
NECESSARY, A COPY OF SAID QUITCLAIM DEED IS ATTACHED
HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMER-
GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE
AND DELIVER A QUITCLAIM DEED RELEASING A ROAD14AY EASEMENT WHICH WAS GRANTED
ON FEBRUARY 22, 19611 BY GUARANTY TITLE AND TRUST COMPANY AS TRUSTEE FOR
THE ESTATE OF OSCAR C. B. NAU, DECEASED, AND WHICH EASEMENT IS NO LONGER
NECESSARY. THIS EASEMENT WAS GRANTED SO THAT THE CITY MIGHT HAVE ACCESS TO
A SANITARY FILL AREA AND IS RECORDED IN VOLUME 917, PAGE 264 OF THE DEED
RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS. A COPY OF THIS QUITCLAIM DEED IS ATTACHED
HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO RELEASE THIS EASEMENT AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY
REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND
NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED
AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION
AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1967.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCILS I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 15 INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
