HomeMy WebLinkAbout08661 ORD - 11/15/19670 JKH:11-14 -67 • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -131, BY CHANGING ITEM 10 IN METER ZONE NO. 2, RELATING TO PARKING METER ZONES IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS: "NORTH TANCAHUA STREET FROM MESTINA STREET 70 BUFFALO STREET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -131, SUBSECTION (6), BY CHANGING ITEM 10 IN METER ZONE NO. 2, RELATING TO PARKING METER ZONES, TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS: "10. NORTH TANCAHUA STREET FROM MESTINA STREET TO BUFFALO STREET." SECTION 2. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AMEND THE PROVISIONS PERTAINING TO PARKING METERS IN THE AREA HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE ORRESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1967.
