EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE OF THE
CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITIZENRY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THEIR EFFORTS TO ERADI-
CATE A DEPLORABLE SITUATION FROM OUR MIDST.
WHEREAS, by diligent and dedicated effort on the part of our Police
Department, a deplorable situation has been brought to light and we trust will
soon become eradicated from our midst; and
WHEREAS, this effort entailed personal sacrifice on the part of some
employees, for beyond the scope of ordinary duty, and with the cooperation
of many of our fine citizens, an insidious condition was exposed, and is in the
process of being erased from our society; and
WHEREAS, the victims of this circumstance are our hopes and aspira-
tions of tomorrow and even though the continued cooperation of those vitally
involved will cause pangs today, if permitted to continue, will be pains
tomorrow:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That our support of the Police Department and law enforce-
ment agencies to stamp our lawlessness in whatever form, be it narcotic, vice,
murder, or of any other nature, is hereby pledged.
SECTION 2. That recognition of efficient work is gratefully acknow-
ledged and the continued vigilence and cooperation of our citizens is warranted
and is earnestly solicited to the end that our beloved City will rank among the
best, and our society, both young and old, will be spared of any misery and
sorrow that are inevitable by our misdeeds today.
