AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS
AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -153 BY ADDING TO
SUBSECTION (c) THE FOLLOWING NAMED STREETS TO
HEREAFTER BE DESIGNATED AS ONE -WAY: WEST FRONTAGE
ROAD tS H 2b6). NORTHWEST FRONTAGE ROAD (S.H. 286)3
NORTHEAST FRONTAGE ROAD S.H. 286 AND EAST FRONTAGE
ROAD S.H. 2b6); PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION: AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED,
BE AND THE SAME 15 HEREBY AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -153 BY ADDING TO
SUBSECTION (C) OF SAID SECTION THE FOLLOWING:
"NAME OF STREET DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC
MOVEMENT
16. WEST FRONTAGE ROAD (S.H. 286), FROM
PORT AVENUE TO HORNE ROAD SOUTH
17. NORTHWEST FRONTAGE ROAD (S.H. 286),
FROM MANSHEIM STREET TO PADRE
ISLAND DRIVE SOUTH AND WEST
18. NORTHEAST FRONTAGE ROAD (S.H. 286),
FROM PADRE ISLAND DRIVE TO HORNE
ROAD NORTH AND WEST
19. EAST FRONTAGE ROAD (S.H. 286), FROM
HORNE ROAD TO PORT AVENUE NORTH"
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICA-
TION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ONE TIME WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CON-
TAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AMEND THE CODE AS HEREINABOVE SET
FORTH CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIR-
ING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY
TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND
THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE 'EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
