HomeMy WebLinkAbout08845 ORD - 04/24/1968�% • vmp:4/22/68 • AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND RE- APPROPRIATING OUT OF 102 GENERAL FUND RESERVE APPROPRIATION THE SUM OF 15,800 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FIREMEN'S RELIEF AND RETIREMENT FUND FOR THE PERIOD APRIL 1. 1968 THROUGH JULY 31, 1968 SUCH ADDITIONAL FUNDS BEING NECESSARY TO MATCH THE AMOUNT OF CONTRI- BUTIONS TO BE MADE TO THE FIREMEN'S RELIEF AND RETIREMENT FUND BY FIREMEN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1: There is hereby appropriated and re- appropriated out of 102 General Fund Reserve appropriation the sum of $15,800 for the purpose of paying additional contributions to the Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund for the period April 1, 1968, through July 31, 1968, such additional funds being necessary to match the amount of contributions to be made to the Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund by firemen. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the hereinabove described funds at the earliest possible date for the purposes set forth hereinabove creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested that such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect fr and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the of April, 1968. k, Ci APPROVED: DAY OF APRIL, 1968: City Attorh y THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS April lg, 1968 T certify to the City Council that the money required for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 102 General Fund - $15,800.00 Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose.
