AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE
SUM OF $25.00 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 14,
OCEAN DRIVE, CRAIG TO ALAMEDA, HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED,
APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 67 -97; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE
SALES CONTRACT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF No. 220 STREET
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $25.00 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND, DESIGNATED AS PARCEL NO. 14, SAID PARCEL BEING
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
A TRIANGULAR TRACT OF LAND OUT OF LOT 9, BLOCK 2 OF THE
ALTA VISTA ON THE BAY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI AS SHOWN BY MAP OR PLAT OF RECORD IN VOLUME 1,
PAGE 22, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, MAP RECORDS, SAID TRI-
ANGULAR TRACT OF LAND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED
BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
BEGINNING AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID LOT 9 FOR A
CORNER OF THIS TRACT;
THENCE S 300 351 05" E WITH THE NORTHEAST BOUNDARY LINE
OF SAID LOT 9, A DISTANCE OF 118.50 FEET FOR A CORNER OF
THIS TRACT;
THENCE S 590 191 55" W, A DISTANCE OF 1.33 FEET TO A
POINT FOR A CORNER OF THIS TRACT;
THENCE IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION WITH THE ARC OF A
CIRCULAR CURVE TO THE LEFT WHOSE RADIUS IS 9:2.50 FEET
AND WHOSE CENTRAL ANGLE IS 2° 561 59 ", A DISTANCE OF
48.52 FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO ACQUIRE THE AFORESAID PARCEL AND EXECUTE SUCH INSTRUMENTS
AND DO SUCH OTHER THINGS AS ARE NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE THE PARCEL DESCRIBED
FROM THE OWNERS, H. G. MARSTON AND WIFE, ALICE MARSTON.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE THE HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED
FUNDS AND TO AUTHORIZE THE IMMEDIATE ACQUISITION OF THE PARCEL OR TRACT OF
LAND HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED SO THAT THE PROJECT MAY PROCEED WITHOUT DELAY
CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR

RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND
THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND RAVING
REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT 13 ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

ORDINANCES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL.
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH 'ORDINA14CE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
