AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $6,100.00 OUT OF NO. 220
STREET BOND FUND FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 7,
NORTH STAPLES, KINNEY AVENUE TO I.H. #37, HEREINAFTER
DESCRIBED, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 61 -50; AUTHOR-
IZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL
ESTATE SALES CONTRACT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 220 STREET
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $6,1OD.00 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THE HEREINAFTER
DESCRIBED PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND, DESIGNATED AS PARCEL N0. 7, SAID PARCEL
BEING DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
BEING THE EAST 5.0 FEET OF LOT 1, BLOCK 45, BLUFF PORTION
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AS SHOWN BY MAP OF RECORD IN
VOLUME A, PAGES 2 AND 3, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS MAP RECORDS
TO WHICH REFERENCE IS HEREBY MADE FOR MORE PARTICULAR
DESCRIPTION.
SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER, BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO ACQUIRE THE AFORESAID PARCEL AND EXECUTE SUCH INSTRUMENTS
AND DO SUCH OTHER THINGS AS ARE NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE THE PARCEL DESCRIBED
FROM THE OWNERS, W. L. WHITE PROPERTIES, INC.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE THE HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED
FUNDS AND TO AUTHORIZE THE IMMEDIATE ACQUISITION OF THE PARCEL OR TRACT OF
LAND HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED SO THAT THE PROJECT MAY PROCEED WITHOUT DELAY
CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND
THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING
REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FRO ANq AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

I certify to the City Council that the money required for the
contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the above
and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi
to the credit of No. 220 Street Bond Fund $6,100.00
Project No. 220 -61 -50 Parcel No. 7
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
