JOHNSON, A WIDOW; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. F a r a BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI /- TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUNDS THE SUM OF p$7628, OF WHICH AMOUNT $7500 IS FOR ACQUISITION OF PARCEL N0. 20, AND $128 IS FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES AND RELATED COSTS, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT No. 220- 61 -50, NORTH STAPLES, KINNEY AVENUE TO I.H. 37, 1, SAID PARCEL BEING DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: FRACTIONAL LOT 11, BLOCK 1, MUSSETT'S ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, SAVE AND EXCEPT THAT PORTION LYING WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF NORTH STAPLES STREET. I SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,WITH THE OWNER, CLARA N. JOHNSON, A WIDOW, OF } CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO EXECUTE THE AFORESAID REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT IN ORDER TO ACQUIRE THE PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND FOR THE CITY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THATNO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL `30'71 0 FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE AY OF OCTOBER, 1968.
