AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF
$142,000 OF UNALLOCATED FUNDS IN NO. 102 GENERAL FUND
AND TRANSFER SAID AMOUNT TO NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND;
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND, FOR
PROJECT NO. 245- 68 -11, THE SUM OF $142,000 OF WHICH
AMOUNT $125,000 IS FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO BE
PERFORMED BY RADER AND ASSOCIATES PER CONTRACT AUTH-
ORIZED BY ORDINANCE N0. 8988 AND $17,000 IS FOR CON-
TINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, INCLUDING LABORA-
TORY SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY SHILSTONE TESTING
LABORATORY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR PROPOSAL DATED
AUGUST 12, 1968; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1968 -69 BE, AND THE
SAME 15 HEREBY AMENDED BY APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $142,000 OF UNALLOCATED
FUNDS IN NO. 102 GENERAL FUND AND TRANSFER SAID AMOUNT TO NO. 245 AIRPORT
BOND FUND.
SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF No. 245 AIRPORT
BOND FUND, FOR PROJECT No. 245- 68 -11, THE SUM OF $142,000 OF WHICH AMOUNT
$125,000 IS FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY RADER AND ASSOCIATES
PER CONTRACT AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 8988 AND $17,000 IS FOR CONTIN-
GENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, INCLUDING LABORATORY SERVICES TO BE PER-
FORMED BY SHILSTONE TESTING LABORATORY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR PROPOSAL
DATED AUGUST 12, 1968.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY MAKE AVAILABLE THE
AFORESAID FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSES STATED CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND
IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE
THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH
EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF

ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FOCE AND EFFECT FROM AND
AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE � DAY

ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCILS I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
