HomeMy WebLinkAbout09130 ORD - 11/20/1968• 11 -20 -68 :FMB . 0 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $6,643.00, OF WHICH AMOUNT $6,500.00 IS FOR ACQUI- SITION OF PARCEL NO. 39 -F BAYFRONT PARK SITE #5, AND $143.00 IS FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSE, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 22o- 67 -97, OCEAN DRIVE, CRAIG TO ALAMEDA; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WITH THE OWNERS OF THE AFORE- SAID PARCEL, JAMES D. PETERSON AND WIFE, HEATHER McFARLIN PETERSON; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $6,643.00, OF WHICH AMOUNT $6,5oo.00 IS FOR ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 39 -F BAYFRONT PARK SITE #5, AND $143.00 15 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSE, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 67 -97, OCEAN DRIVE, CRAIG TO ALAMEDA, SAID PARCEL BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT: BEING ALL OF LOT 16 -A, BLOCK 10, SOUTH SHORE ESTATES, UNIT 1, AS SHOWN BY MAP OR PLAT OF RECORD IN VOLUME 22, PAGE 59, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, MAP RECORDS, TO WHICH REFERENCE 15 HEREBY MADE FOR MORE PARTICULAR DESCRIPTION. SECTION 2. THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WITH THE OWNERS OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL, JAMES D. PETERSON AND WIFE, HEATHER MCFARLIN PETERSON. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE THE SUMS HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED AND TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF THE PARCEL FOR THE OCEAN DRIVE, CRAIG TO ALAMEDA, PROJECT CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO- DUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND 9130 November 5, 1968 I certify to the City Council that the money required for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the above and foregoing ordinance is in.'the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 220 Street Bond Fund $6643.00 Project No. 220 -67 -97 Ocean Drive - Craig to Alameda Fund from 'which it is proposed to be dravu, and such money is not gppropriated for any other purpose. r Rlredtorf oft4inance �FJ • • 1_. : ��CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS / J PJS/J.P/1)DAY OF/) .{yi4l j9.Od o TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN- SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCILS I, THEREFORE, REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI- NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
