HomeMy WebLinkAbout09157 ORD - 12/04/1968• 12- 2- 68:FMe • AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $5,000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN ACQUIRING THE PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT, INCLUDING COMMISSIONERS, RECORDING AND APPRAISERS FEES, AND COURT COSTS AND TITLE EXPENSES, ALL EXPENSES TO BE PAID ON RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, BY ORDINANCE NO. 8141, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON AUGUST 17, 1966, THERE WAS APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $5,000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT, INCLUDING COMMISSIONERS FEES, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES, RECORD- ING FEES AND FEES FOR APPRAISERS SERVICES, SAID EXPENSES TO BE PAID ON RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER; AND WHEREAS, THERE EXISTS AT THIS TIME A NECESSITY FOR APPROPRIATION OF AN ADDITIONAL $5,000.00 TO PROVIDE FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $5,000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT, NO. 220 -56- 24.3, HIGHWAY 280 RELOCATED, SAID EXPENSES TO INCLUDE COMMISSIONERS FEES, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES, RECORDING FEES AND FEES FOR APPRAISERS SERVICES, SAID EXPENSES TO BE PAID ONLY ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO PAY INCIDENTAL EXPENSES INCURRED IN ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT, HIGHWAY 286 RELOCATED, SO AS TO PREVENT DELAY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE AFORESAID CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMER- GENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE 915 CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUS- PENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE _4/j7,f DAY OF DECEMBER, 1968.
