HomeMy WebLinkAbout09178 ORD - 12/30/1968IMS:JKH:12-27 -68 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 7 -4 AND RENUMBERING THE SAME AS SECTION 7 -4A AND SECTION 7 -4B, SO AS TO PERMIT ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR FLYING WITHIN THE CITY FOR FLYING CHEMICALS TO CROPS AND TO PERMIT LANDING AND TAKE -OFF OF VTOL CRAFT AT LOCA- TIONS NOT OTHERWISE AUTHORIZED, AND TO PROVIDE PROCEDURE FOR ISSUANCE OF SUCH PERMITS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY AMENDING AND RENUMBERING SECTION 7 -4 TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS: "SECTION 7 -4A. EXHIBITION, EDUCATIONAL AND PHOTOGRAPHIC FLIGHTS. ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHING OR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, THE CITY MANAGER MAY AUTHORIZE AIRCRAFT EXHIBITIONS AND FLIGHTS BELOW THE MINIMUM ALTITUDE SPECIFIED IN SECTION 7 -3 TO BE CONDUCTED UNDER THE RESTRICTIONS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER UPON WRITTEN APPLICATION TO THE AIRPORT MANAGER, AND PROVIDING SUCH PROTECTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER." "SECTION 7 -4B. PERMITS FOR CROP SPRAYING AND OPERATION OF VTOL CRAFT. THE AIRPORT MANAGER MAY ISSUE PERMITS FOR THE OPERATION OF AIRCRAFT BELOW THE MINIMUMS PRESCRIBED IN SECTION 7 -3 FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING CHEMICALS TO CROPS AND THE LANDING AND TAKING OFF OF VTOL CRAFT AT LOCATIONS NOT OTHERWISE AUTHORIZED. EACH APPLICANT SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL REGULATIONS PROMULGATED BY THE AIRPORT MANAGER AND APPROVED BY THE CITY MANAGER AND FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY. THE PERMIT FEE SHALL BE $25.00 PER PERMIT. EACH PERMIT SHALL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE PERIOD INDICATED IN THE PERMIT BUT IN NO EVENT FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR." 9179 SECTION 2. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE. SECTION 3. IF FOR ANY REASON ANY SECTION, PARAGRAPH, SUBDIVI- SION, CLAUSE, PHRASE OR PROVISION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE HELD INVALID, IT SHALL NOT AFFECT ANY VALID PROVISIONS OF THIS OR ANY OTHER ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO WHICH THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATE. SECTION 4.
