AN ORDINANCE
EXTENDING THE EFFECT OF REVOCABLE EASEMENTS HERETO-
FORE ISSUED UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 8844, AUTHORIZING
THE PERMITTEE TO DISPOSE OF WASTE MATERIALS AND WATER
FROM OIL WELL PRODUCTION, AND SETTING FORTH OTHER
PROVISIONS TO THE MATTER OF REVOCABLE EASEMENTS FOR
SAID PURPOSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, REVOCABLE EASEMENTS ISSUED UNDER ORDINANCE N0. 8844,
BY THE TERMS OF SAID ORDINANCE, WILL EXPIRE JANUARY 1, 1969; AND
WHEREAS, ADDITIONAL TIME IS NEEDED FOR STUDY, BY THE CITY
COUNCIL, OF THE PROBLEMS INVOLVED IN THE OPERATION REGULATED BY SAID
ORDINANCE; AND
WHEREAS, IT IS THE OPINION OF THE CITY COUNCIL THAT THE
PERMITS UNDER SAID ORDINANCE N0. 8844 SHOULD BE EXTENDED FOR A PERIOD
ENDING JUNE 30, ig6g, OR AT SUCH EARLIER DATE AS A STUDY OF THE PROBLEM
IS COMPLETED BY THE COUNCIL AND FURTHER REGULATIONS ADOPTED:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE N0. 8844 ARE
HEREBY EXTENDED TO THE EFFECT THAT ALL PERMITS ISSUED UNDER SAID ORDINANCE
N0. 8844 SHALL BE CONTINUED IN EFFECT UNTIL JUNE 30, 1969, PROVIDED THE
BONDS REQUIRED IN SAID ORDINANCE BE KEPT IN EFFECT DURING SAID TIME AND
THE TERMS OF THE PERMITS ISSUED THEREUNDER BE OBSERVED. EACH OF THE
PERMITS NOW IN EXISTENCE ARE HEREBY EXTENDED, WITHOUT NECESSITY OF ANY
FURTHER ACTION ON THE PART OF THE CITY PETROLEUM SUPERINTENDENT. ANY
NEW APPLICANTS
p oFOR PERMITS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SAID
ORDINANCE No. 8844, INCLUDING THE NECESSITY FOR FILING BOND AND PAYMENT
OF A FEE OF $25.00 PER WELL.
SECTION 2. THE URGENT NEED FOR KEEPING IN EFFECT THE EXISTING

REVOCABLE EASEMENTS HERETOFORE ISSUED UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 44 AND FOR
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF FURTHER REVOCABLE EASEMENTS ON A TEMPORARY
BASIS CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIR-
ING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH

ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO
EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS
ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS

BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE 14EETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCILS I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
