HomeMy WebLinkAbout09316 ORD - 04/02/1969• 3/31/69:e • AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF N0. 202 WATER SYSTEM BOND FUND THE SUM OF $10,118.40, OF WHICH AMOUNT $9,958.40 IS FOR ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 6, AND $160.00 IS FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 202- 59 -31, 0. N. STEVENS MUD DRYING BED; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE BEAT ESTATE SALES CONTRACT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WITH THE OWNERS OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND, TOMAS LOPEZ AND WIFE, MARIA OLIVIA LOPEZ; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS : SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 220 Water System Bond Fund, the sum of $10,118.40, of which amount $9,958.40 is for acquisition of Parcel No. 6, and the sum of $160.00 is for incidental expenses and related costs, applicable to Project No. 202- 59 -31, 0. N. Stevens Mud Drying Bed, said parcel being more fully described as follows, to -wit: Lot 14, Block 1, Countiss Addition, being a tract of land out of a portion of a 56.75 acre tract out of the Magee Lands and out of the G. Farias Grant, Abstract No. 592, Nueces County, Texas, being further identified by the map or plat of record in Volume 29, Page 28, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas. Instrument filed for record December 14, 1964. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute real estate sales contract, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, with the owners of the aforesaid parcel, Tomas Lopez and wife, Maria Olivia Lopez. SECTION 3. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove described and to authorize the purchase of the aforesaid parcel for the 0. N. Stevens Mud Drying Bed Project, creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi- nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule that this March 28, 1969 CERTIFY TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT THE MONEY REQUIRED FOR THE CONTRACTS AGREEMENTS OBLIGATIONS OR EXPENDITURE CONTEMPLATED IN THE ABOVE AND FOREGOING ORDINAN6e IS IN THE TREASURY OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO THE CREDIT OF N0. 202 -59 -31 0. N. Stevens Mud Drying Bed Amount $10,118.40 FUND FROM WHICH IT IS PROPOSED TO BE DRAWN AND SUCH MONEY IS NOT APPROPRIATED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.
