AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1, IN
THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $24,000 FOR THE WIDENING OF
MACARTHUR STREET, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -67 -92.2,
BELTON, MACARTHUR, SARITA, HIAWATHA, RODD FIELD ROAD
STREET IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $242000 TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS PREVI-
OUSLY APPROPRIATED, THEREBY PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE
ENLARGED PROJECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS CHANGE ORDER;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. Authorization is hereby given for issuance of Change
Order No. 1, in the additional amount of $24,000, for the widening of
MacArthur Street, applicable to Project No. 220 -67 -92.2, Belton, MacArthur,
Sarita, Hiawatha and Rodd Field Street Improvements.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of 220 Street Bond
Fund the sum of $24,000, of which sum $22,810 is the estimated cost of the
widening of MacArthur Street and $1,190 is for contingency and engineering
costs, thereby providing funds for the enlarged project in accordance with
this Change Order No. 1, applicable to Project No. 220 -67 -92.2.

SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the issuance of the afore-
said Change Order and to appropriate the necessary funds to carry out said
Order, in order that this project may continue without delay creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension
of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date
of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its -passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED, this the .,C�/ day of 1969.

ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST.FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 11 THEREFORE
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND-SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
