Home My WebLink About09442 ORD - 07/30/1969AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8127, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 1, SUBSECTION (B), BY SUBSTITUTING NEW SALARY SCHEDULES; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 1, Subsection (b) of said Ordinance No. 8127, be, and the same is hereby amended by substituting the attached schedules of salaries. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, sub- division, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION 3. The effective date of the above changes shall be July 28, 1969. SECTION 4. The fact that there is an immediate need to adopt new salary schedules so there may be an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity re- quiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having requested the suspension of said Charter Rules, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
