HomeMy WebLinkAbout09658 ORD - 03/04/1970BJW:3 /2/70 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $41 000 FROM 291 PARK BOND FUND FOR PROJECT NO. 291 -64 -4, ELGIN PARK, FOR 8 REPLACEMENT HOUSING PAYMENTS, NOT TO EXCEED $5,000 EACH, FOR UP TO 8 PROPERTY OWNER- OCCUPANTS AND 1 ADDITIONAL RE- LOCATION PAYMENT, NOT TO EXCEED $1,000 FOR ONE FAMILY, DISPLACED AS A RESULT OF THE HUD- ASSISTED EXPANSION OF ELGIN PARK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE DIRECTOR OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO APPROVE THE AFORE- SAID PAYMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FROM No. 291 PARK BOND FUND THE SUM OF $41,000 FOR PROJECT N0. 291 -64 -4, ELGIN PARK, FOR8 REPLACE- MENT HOUSING PAYMENTS, NOT TO EXCEED $5,000 EACH, FOR UP TO 8 PROPERTY OWNER- OCCUPANTS AND 1 ADDITIONAL RELOCATION PAYMENT, NOT TO EXCEED $1,000 FOR ONE FAMILY, DISPLACED AS A RESULT OF THE HUD - ASSISTED EXPANSION OF ELGIN PARK. SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER OR THE DIRECTOR OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT BE AUTHORIZED TO APPROVE THE PAYMENTS FOR THE PURPOSES AFORESAID. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO PROMPTLY APPROPRIATE THE HEREINABOVE SUMS AND TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT THEREOF CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERA- TIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUC- TION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE ATTEST: DAY OF MARCH, 1970.
