AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE A
REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT WITH THE OWNERS, REBECCA
FLORES TURNER, ET AL, FO) THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL
NO. 2, BEING LOT 2, BLOCK 2, CRAVEN HEIGHTS ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS,
AS A PART OF THE SITE OF A CITY SWIMMING POOL TO BE
CONSTRUCTED ON A TRACT OF LAND AT BROWNLEE AND BUFFALO
STREETS IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AUTHORIZING THE
ACQUISITION COSTS TO BE PAID OUT OF THE UNALLOCATED
PORTION OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY, TO BE REIMBURSED
OUT OF THE PARK BOND FUND IF AND WHEN SUCH FUNDS ARE
PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER 8E, AND HE IS HEREBY,
AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
A REAL ESTATES SALES CONTRACT WITH THE OWNERS, REBECCA FLORES TURNER,
LEONORA FLORES GUTIERREZ, MARIA FLORES GALLARDO, ARTURO GONZALES FLORES,
Luz FLORES BENAVIDES, CONCEPTION (CONCHO) FLORES, AND RAUL GONZALES
FLORES, FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL No. 2, BEING A TRACT OF LAND
DESCRIBED AS LOT 2, BLOCK 2, CRAVENS HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AS A PART OF THE SITE OF A CITY SWIMMING POOL TO
BE CONSTRUCTED ON A TRACT OF LAND AT BROWNLEE AND BUFFALO STREETS.
SECTION 2. THAT IT I5 HEREBY AUTHORIZED THAT THE COSTS OF
ACQUISITION OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL OF LAND BE PAID OUT OF THE
UNALLOCATED PORTION OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY, TO BE REIMBURSED
OUT OF PARK BOND FUNDS IF AND WHEN SUCH FUNDS ARE PROVIDED.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND TO AUTHORIZE THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS TO ACQUIRE THE
AFORESAID PARCEL No. 2, IN ORDER TO PROCEED WITH PLANS FOR THE BUILDING
OF A SWIMMING POOL AT BROWNLEE AND BUFFALO STREETS, CREATES A PUBLIC
EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY
ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR
HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED
FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL

FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend laid Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
