AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND THE
SUM OF $12,583 FOR COLE PARK DEVELOPMENT, PROJECT
NO. 291 -67 -6; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 291 PARK
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $12,583 FOR COMPLETION OF THE CURRENT PROJECT AT
COLE PARK, INCLUDING AN ADDITIONAL PLAYGROUND AREA, PICNIC AREAS,
ADDITIONAL PLANTING OF SHRUBS AND TREES, OBSERVATION AREA AND OTHER
MISCELLANEOUS IMPROVEMENTS, SAID PROJECT BEING DESIGNATED AS PROJECT
N0. 291 -67 -6, COLE PARK DEVELOPMENT.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY APPROPRIATE THE HEREIN-
ABOVE DESCRIBED SUMS IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE IMPROVEMENTS TO COLE PARK
CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE
OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO
EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND
TAKE EFFECT AND DE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF MARCH, 1970•

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend laid Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
