CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
NOVEMBER 16, 1984
7:00 A.M.

City Secretary Bill G. Read
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 a.m. All members of the Council
were present as was Judge Robert Barnes, County Judge for Nueces County.
Mayor Jones called the meeting to order in the Council Chamber at City
Hall.
City Secretary Bill G. Read called the roll of required Charter Officers
and verified that the necessary quorum was present to conduct a legally
constituted meeting.
Mayor Jones announced the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the
procedures to be followed in the appointing of the Commissioners for the Port
Authority of Corpus Christi and pointed out that since this was a personnel
matter, it might be well that the Council go into closed session to discuss
these procedures.
A motion was made by Council Member Frank Mendez, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem
Turner that the Council go into closed session for the purpose of discussing
personnel.
At 7:03 a.m., Council went into Executive Session under 6252-17 for the
purpose of discussing personnel matters.
The Council reconvened at 8:08 a.m. and Mayor Jones announced that action
would be taken on Tuesday, November 20th, during the Regular Council Meeting on
the appointment of Commissioners to the Port of Corpus Christi.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion by
Council Member Mendez, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Turner and passed unanimously,
the Special Council Meeting of November 16, 1984 was adjourned at 8:12 a.m.
