AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED,
BY DELETING THEREFROM ITEM 22 UNDER SECTION 21 -156, AND
EFFECT ADDING AN ITEM TO SECTION 21-155 30 AS TO HAVE THE F PERMITTING PARKING AT ALL TIMES ON BOTH SIDES
OF EVERHART ROAD FROM SARATOGA TO DONEGAL AND SO AS TO
PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES ON BOTH SIDES OF EVERHART
FROM DONEGAL TO HOLLY ROAD; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION I. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED,
BE, AND THE SAME 13 HEREBY, AMENDED BY DELETING THEREFROM ITEM 22 UNDER
SECTION 21 -156, READING AS FOLLOWS:
"22. EVERHART ROAD, BOTH SIDES, BETWEEN
HOLLY ROAD AND SARATOGA BOULEVARD. AT ALL TIMES."
SECTION 2. THAT THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED,
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED BY ADDING THERETO AN ITEM UNDER
SECTION 21 -155, READING AS FOLLOWS:
"EVERHART ROAD, BOTH SIDES BETWEEN DONEGAL AND HOLLY
ROAD." '
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL
PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, BY PUBLISHING THE CAPTION OF
THIS ORDINANCE, STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE.
SECTION 4. THE NECESSITY FOR IMMEDIATE ADOPTION OF THE PROVI-
SIONS HEREINASOVE SET FORTH IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN AT ALL TIMES A COMPRE-
HENSIVE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CREATES A PUBLIC
EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY
ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
,. SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE
MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING
REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY $O ORDAINED, THIS THE 15TH DAY OF APRIL, 1970.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City request that you suspend said Charter rule or the City Council; I, thisefore,
City finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
