APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND THE SUM
OF $7,897.35 FOR COSTS RELATED TO ACQUISITION OF THE
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PARCELS IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ELGIN PARK EXPANSION, PROJECT NO. 291- 64 -64; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 291 PARK
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $7,897.35 FOR COSTS RELATED TO ACQUISITION OF THE
FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PARCELS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ELGIN PARK EXPANSION,
PROJECT NO. 291- 64 -64:
PARCEL 7, CAUSE N0. 634, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI VS. EVARISTA
ARGUELLEZ, ET AL, $2350 FOR JUDGMENT AWARD AND $90 FOR COMMISSIONERS' FEES;
PARCEL 17, CAUSE NO. 635, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI VS. WILLIE J.
DAVILA, ET AL, $1600 FOR JUDGMENT AWARD AND $90 FOR COMMISSIONERS' FEES;
PARCELS 7 AND 17, APPRAISAL FEES, $122.35;
PARCEL 19, CAUSE NO. 633, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI VS. SANTIAGO
MARTINEZ, ET AL, $3000 FOR JUDGMENT AWARD; $135 FOR APPRAISER'S FEE; AND
$90 FOR COMMISSIONERS' FEES;
PARCEL 14, CAUSE NO. 632, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI VS. SANTIAGO
MARTINEZ, ET AL, $120 FOR APPRAISER'S FEES;
PARCEL 8, CAUSE N0. 629, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI VS. JUAN ELIZONDO,
ET AL, $120 FOR APPRAISER'S FEES, AND
PARCEL 9, CAUSE N0. 630, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI VS. MRS. ANGELITA
CERVANTES, ET AL, $180 FOR APPRAISER'S FEES,
ALL OF SAID CAUSES HAVING BEEN FILED IN THE COUNTY COURT AT LAW NUMBER
ONE OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATIONS HEREINABOVE
DESCRIBED IN ORDER TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE PARCELS INVOLVED CREATES A
PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED
FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLU-
TION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE

MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING
REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT q FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; 1, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
