APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM
OF $17,062.94, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -67 -100
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE ACROSS SCHANEN DITCH,
BETWEEN SCHANEN UNIT V AND UNIT VIII; AUTHORIZING
REIMBURSEMENT TO THE DEVELOPER, DEL STARR REALTY
COMPANY, FROM FUNDS HEREBY APPROPRIATED, REPRESENT-
ING THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE COST OF THE
BRIDE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLATTING ORDINANCE,
AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE N0. 8986, AND AS SET FORTH
BY ORDINANCE NO. 9051, AUTHORIZING THE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND DEL STARR REALTY COMPANY; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 220 Street
Bond Fund the sum of $17,062.94, applicable to Project No. 220 -67 -100,
construction of a bridge across the Schanen Ditch between Schanen Units
V and VIII.
SECTION 2. Authorization is hereby given to reimburse the
developer, Del Starr Realty Company, from funds hereby appropriated,
representing the City's participation in the cost of the bridge, in
accordance with the Platting Ordinance, as amended by Ordinance No.
8986, and as set forth by Ordinance No. 9051, authorizing the agreement
between the City and Del Starr Realty Company.
SECTION 3. The necessity to appropriate the hereinabove described
sums and to make reimbursement to the developer as promptly as possible
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and
having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED, this the,14&b day of 1970.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
