AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE DESCRIPTION OF CITY DRILLING
BLOCK 1033 AS SAME WAS DEFINED AND DESCRIBED
IN ORDINANCE NO. 8773 PASSED BY THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI ON THE 21st DAY OF FEBRUARY,
1968, STYLED "AMENDING THE MAP OF THE CITY
DESIGNATED AS CORPUS CHRISTI DRILLING BLOCKS,
MAY 31, 1956, BY ADDING THERETO DRILLING BLOCK
1033 AS HEREINAFTER MORE FULLY DESCRIBED;
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY," PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That City Drilling Block 1033, as designated
and described by Ordinance No. 8773 of the City of Corpus Christi
passed February 21, 1968, is hereby amended in order that same may
comply with the requirement of Ordinance No. 8879 of the City of
Corpus Christi, passed May 29, 1968, contained in Section 3.3
thereof which requires that the outside boundaries of drilling
blocks substantially conform to the general pattern shown on the
map attached to said Ordinance No. 8879 as Exhibit "A" and that the
new and amended description of said Drilling Block No. 1033 shall
be as follows:
A tract containing 44.43 acres of land and being
44.43 acres in the Northwest corner of an 87.87
acre tract, more or less, out of the Wm. J. Robert-
son Survey, Nueces County, Texas, said 87.87 acre
tract being the same as was set aside to Marion
M. Clemmer and Jenvieve M. Holworthy in a Partition
Deed dated January 16, 1943, executed by Marion M.
Clemmer and Jenvieve M. Holworthy, which deed is
now of record in Volume 285, at Page 324, of the
Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas, and described
by metes and bounds as follows:

BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of said 87.87 acre
tract; THENCE South 60 deg. 58 min. East 1445.26
feet along the Northeast boundry of said 87.87
acre tract to a point; THENCE South 29 deg. 00 min.
10 sec. West 1339.21 feet to a point; THENCE North
60 deg. 58 min. West 1445.26 feet to a point in the
Northwest boundry of said 87.87 acre tract; THENCE
along the Northwest boundry of said 87.87 acre
tract North 29 deg. 00 min. 10 sec. East 1339.21
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, as said 44.43
acre drilling block is shown on the attached plat,
which plat is incorporated herein and made a part
of this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. The Permit issued by the City Petroleum Super-
intendent to NOR -AM PETROLEUM CORP. for the drilling of a well on
Drilling Block 1033 is hereby amended to the extent that the area
covered by the Permit shall be the area covered by City Drilling Block
1033, as defined and described in this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, one time, which publi-
cation shall contain the caption, stating in substance the purpose
of the ordinance.
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase or provision of this Ordinance shall
be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this
or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these
rules and regulations relate.
SECTION 5. The necessity for immediately amending the
description of Drilling Block 1033 as designated by Ordinance No.
8773 to conform with the requirements of Ordinance No. 8879 to
conform with the Drilling Block Map attached to Ordinance No. 8879,
as Exhibit "A ", creating a public emergency and an imperative pub-
lic necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor, having
declared that such public emergency and imperative public necessity

exist, and having requested that such Charter Rule be .suspended and
that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDINATED, this the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
