HomeMy WebLinkAbout09898 ORD - 08/19/1970AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY CHANGING CERTAIN CLASS GRADES AND BY CREATING CERTAIN CLASSIFICATIONS, BY AMENDING SECTION 4 THEREOF; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by changing the Class Title of the following classification: FROM JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 722 Senior Street Foreman 22 TO JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 722 Senior Street Foreman I 22 SECTION 2. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by creating the following classifications: JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 740 Senior Street Foreman II 24 616 Sanitarian I 26 SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provision of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION 4. The effective date of the above changes will be July 27, 1970. SECTION 5. The fact that there is an immediate need to create certain new positions and a need to maintain an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having requested the suspension of the said Charter ti • i Rule, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the ay of August, 1970.
