HomeMy WebLinkAbout09918 RES - 09/09/1970R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Burton Dunn was called to his eternal reward on September 8, 1970; and, WHEREAS, Burton Dunn, a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, had spent sixty -two years in the ranching and banking business, was active in a number of fund raising campaigns in the South Texas area, and was one of the City's foremost leaders; and, WHEREAS, Burton Dunn had been Treasurer of the City of Corpus Christi for many years; and, WHEREAS, the demise of our esteemed friend and great benefactor leaves a void in our community which cannot be replaced; his absence will be a great loss to his many friends: t i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, that the City Council does hereby express its I sympathy and condolence upon the occasion of the death of Burton Dunn, and par- ticularly to his family and relatives. i BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to the family of Burton Dunn. jPASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of September, 1970. Riggs, Acting,City Attorney 4e)Pul • Corpus Christi, Texas ` &may of , lgz o TO THE j-IEMBERS OF TUL CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is .introduced, or at the present- meeting of the City Council.
