HomeMy WebLinkAbout09938 RES - 09/23/1970• RESOLUTION WHEREAS, JUDGE WILLIAM A. SCHMIDT WAS CALLED TO HIS ETERNAL REWARD ON SEPTEMBER 21, 1970; AND WHEREAS, JUDGE WILLIAM A. SCHMIDT WAS A RESPECTED AND LIFE- LONG RESIDENT OF THE COASTAL BEND AREA, SERVED AS COUNTY JUDGE OF SAN PATRICIO COUNTY SINCE 1962, WAS FORMERLY MAYOR AND ALDERMAN ON THE CITY COUNCIL IN THE CITY OF TAFT, AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE COASTAL BEND REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION) AND WHEREAS, JUDGE WILLIAM A. SCHMIDT WILL BE OFTEN MISSED AND LONG REMEMBERED FOR HIS LOYAL AND VALUABLE SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC, TO THE PEOPLE OF THE COASTAL BEND AREA, AND TO THE CITIZENS OF CORPUS CHRISTI: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY EXPRESS ITS SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCE UPON THE OCCASION OF THE DEATH OF JUDGE WILLIAM A. SCHMIDT, AND PARTICULARLY TO HIS FAMILY AND RELATIVES. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE DELIVERED TO THE FAMILY OF JUDGE WILLIAM A. SCHMIDT. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 23RD DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1970.
