AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH VISION, INC., WHEREBY THE CITY
WILL LEASE FROM SAID VISION, INC. A TRACT OF LAND CON-
SISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 14.E ACRES LOCATED ON SARATOGA
BOULEVARD FOR A TERM OF ONE YEAR, COMMENCING OCTOBER 1,
1970, TO BE USED AS A PISTOL AND RIFLE RANGE ALL AS
MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE LEASE AGREEMENT, A COPY OF
WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A
LEASE AGREEMENT WITH VISION, INC., WHEREBY THE CITY WILL 1L�EASE FROM SAID
VISION, INC. A TRACT OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 14.E ACRES OF LAND,
LOCATED ON SARATOGA BOULEVARD, HAVING A FRONTAGE ON SARATOGA BOULEVARD OF
APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET AND BEING THAT AREA FENCED AND HERETOFORE LEASED TO
C. C. PISTOL AND 'RIIFLE CLUB, INC., AND BEING IN THE SOUTHWESTERLY CORNER
OF A PASTURE OF 2145 ACRES OUT OF A TRACT OF 5o8.37 ACRES KNOWN AS THE W. J.
ROBERTSON TRACT, FOR A TERM OF ONE YEAR COMMENCING ON OCTOBER 1, 1970,
TO BE USED AS A PISTOL AND RIFLE RANGE, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE
LEASE AGREEMENT, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION Z. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY EXECUTE THE AFORESAID
LEASE AGREEMENT TO EFFECT THE TERMS THEREOF CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND
IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE
THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH
EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF
ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND

LEASE ACREEMENT
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF NUECES X
This lease made between Vision, Inc., hereinafter called LESSOR,
and the City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called LESSEE:
W I T N E S S E T H
That Lessor, for and in consideration of the agreements herein
set forth, to be kept, performed and observed by Lessee, has demised and
leased and does hereby demise and lease to Lessee all of that certain tract
or portion of land in Nueces County, Texas, constituting a tract of approxi-
mately 4.6 acres located on Saratoga Boulevard, having a frontage on Saratoga
Boulevard of approximately 300 feet and being that area fenced and heretofore
leased to Corpus Christi Police Department, and being iri the Southwesterly
corner of a pasture of 245 acres out of a tract of 508.37 acres known as the
W. J. Robertson Tract; to be used ab a pistol and rifle range.
To have and hold the above leased premises unto the Lessee from
the 1st day of October, 1970, for the full term of one (1) year, unless sooner
terminated under the provisions of this instrument.
This agreement may be terminated by either party upon 30 days
notice of intention to terminate and in the event Lessor should terminate
same, the prepaid rental shall be prorated to date leased premises are
vacated.
Lessee may extend the term hereof from year to year, subject to
other provisions herein contained, by payment of the $300.00 rental on or
before Khe 1st day of October of each successive year, in advance for the
respective coming year.
In consideration of such lease, the Lessee agrees and is bound
as follows:
1. Not to sublet or assign this lease, or any rights thereunder,
unless the written consent thereto of Lessor is obtained.
2. To pay at the time of execution of this lease, to Lessor,
P. 0. Box 1961,.Corpus Christi, Texas, 78403, as an. annual rental the
sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
3. To indemnify and save harmless the Lessor from any and all
claims, demands or suits, based upon or arising out of the occupancy or
use of the leased premises by Lessee and those holding• under him.
4. This lease is subordinate to an oil and gas lease executed
by Lessor, and to any oil and gas lease hereafter executed by Lessor.
5. The Lessee is hereby given the right to make all construc-
tions and renovations as it seems fit to do so, but all said construction
and renovations, with the exception of all targets, target stands and
shooter's backstops, shall remain on said property upon the termination
of this lease. All targets, target stands and shooter's backstops can
be removed by said Lessee upon termination of this lease.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, witness the parties at Corpus Christi,

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
