HomeMy WebLinkAbout09993 ORD - 11/11/1970mvl:11-10 -70 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SLOVAK BROTHERS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK LIFT STATION; APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND THE SUM OF $19,800 OF WHICH $9,376 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, $7,800 IS FOR CITY FORCE CONSTRUCTION OF 1300 FEET OF 6" FORCE MAIN, AND $2,624 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES, ALL APPLICABLE TO -PROJECT NO. 250- 70 -85; AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT OF 109 SEWER BOND FUND FOR ALL AMOUNTS ADVANCED FOR LABOR, MATERIALS AND RELATED COSTS NOT HERETOFORE REIMBURSED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, a contract with Slovak Brothers for the construction of the Airport Industrial Park Lift Station, said construction to include site preparation, building of reinforced concrete slab footing, installation of 4" sewage pumps and control center, plus appurtenances, to and on Lot 2, Block 15, Airport Industrial Park, and adjacent areas, all as more fully set out in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference, and according to the bid of Slovak Brothers, opened on the 4th day of November, 1970, the said bid of Slovak Brothers being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund the sum of $19,800, of which $9,376 is for the construction contract, $7,800 is for City force construction of 1300 feet of 6" force main, and $2,624 is for contingencies, all applicable to Project No. 250- 70 -85. SECTION 3. Authorization ;Ls hereby given to reimburse 109 Sewer Bond Fund, out of the funds hereby appropriated, for all amounts advanced for labor, materials and related costs not heretofore reimbursed. SECTION 4. The necessity to provide a sanitary sewer lift station and appurtenances thereto in order to provide sewer service to an area of the City not previously served creates a public emergency and an imperative public 9!1+57 necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of 1970: ATTEST: l City Secre ar APPROVED: //'t DAY-OF NOVEMBER, 1970: Ci Attorney Y R TEIE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS J CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS CERTIFICATION OF FUNDS (City Charter Article IV Section 21) October 14, 1970 I certify to the City Council that $ 7,800 , the amount required for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of; Fund No, and Name 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund Project No. 250 -70 -85 Project Name Airport Industrial Park Lift Station and Force Main from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose.
