AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY CREATING
CLASSIFICATIONS OF DATA PROCESSING MANAGER AND SENIOR
COMPUTER PROGRAMMER AND CHANGING THE CLASS GRADE OF
DATA PROCESSING SUPERVISOR, BY AMENDING SECTION 4 THEROF;
PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 4 of said Ordi ance No. 3658, be, and
the same is hereby amended by creating the following classifications:
JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE
150 Senior Computer Programmer 31
151 Data Processing Manager 1 35
SECTION 2. That Section 4 of said Ordi�ance No. 3658, be, and
the same is hereby amended by changing the following classfication:

SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase or provision of this ordinance sh 1 be held invalid, it
shall not affect any valid provision of this or y other ordinance of the
City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate.
SECTION 4. The effective date of'the changes will be
December 2, 1970.
SECTION 5. The fact that there is an immediate need to create
certain new positions and a need to maintain an fficient administration of
City affairs creates a public ememergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule tha no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three s veral meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having requested the susp nsion of the said Charter

Rule, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the' &Day of
December, 1970.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
