AMENDING THE DESCRIPTION OF CITY DRILLING
BLOCKS 875, 876, 877 and 878, AS SAME WERE
DEFINED AND DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NO. 8879
PASSED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ON THE
29th DAY OF MAY, 1968, STYLED "ADOPTING RULES
AND REGULATIONS FOR EXPLORATION, DRILLING AND
PRODUCTION OF HYDROCARBONS, AND CONCERNING
MATTERS INCIDENT THERETO, IN THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, FOR ALL AREAS OF THE CITY
EXCEPT THOSE AREAS SUBJECT TO REGULATION UNDER
THE TERMS OF ORDINANCE NO. 8294, ADOPTED ON
FINAL READING ON DECEMBER 21, 1966, AND AMEND-
MENTS THERETO; PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUANCE
OF CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES AND
MEANS OF ENFORCEMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR PUB-
LICATION ", PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION, PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That City Drilling Blocks 875, 876, 877 and
878, as designated and described by Ordinance No. 8879, of the
City of Corpus Christi passed May 29, 1968, are hereby amended
in order that same may comply with the boundaries of pre- existing
gas units, and so that such lands left out of such units may now
be incorporated into a new gas unit in conformity with the attached
plat, and that the new and amended descriptions of said Drilling
Blocks Noa. 875, 876, 877 and 878 shall be as follows:

DRILLING BLOCK 875
Being a tract of land situated in Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas having been designated City of Corpus Christi Drilling
Block 875, as established by Ordinance 8879 of the City of Corpus
Christi as adopted on May 29,1968; comprised of a portion of
Lot 3, Block 9 of the J.C. Russell Farm Blocks as shown on the
plat thereof recorded in Volume 28 at Pages 58 and 59 of the
Map Records of Nueces County, Texas and being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the centerline
of Navigation Blvd. with the centerline of a 40
foot dedicated road running along the north side
of Lot 3, Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks;
THENCE East along the centerline of said 40 foot
dedicated road a distance of 349.40 feet to a
point for a point of beginning and the north-
west corner of this drilling block;
THENCE continuing East along the centerline of
said 40 foot road a distance of 1225.29 feet to
a point the northeast corner of Lot 3, Block 9;
J.C. Russell Farm Blocks;
THENCE South along the east line of Lot 3, Block
9 and its southerly extension a distance of
1246.71 feet to a point;
THENCE West a distance of 1225.29 feet to a point
said point lying in the north line of Lot 5, Johns
Industrial Subdivision as shown on the plat thereof
recorded in Volume 30 at Page 1 of the Map Records
of Nueces County, Texas;
THENCE North across Lot 3, Block 9, J.C. Russell
Farm Blocks a distance of 1246.71 feet to the point
of beginning forming a tract of land embracing
35.068 acres, more or less.
DRILLING BLOCK 876
Being a tract of land situated in Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas having been designated City of Corpus Christi Drilling
Block 876, as established by Ordinance 8879 of the City of Corpus
Christi as adopted May 29, 1968; comprised of a portion of Lots
3 and 4, Block 9 of the J.C. Russell Farm Blocks as shown on the
plat thereof recorded in Volume 28 at Pages 58 and 59 of the Map
Records of Nueces County, Texas and being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the centerline
of a 40 foot dedicated road along the north side
of Lot 4, Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks with
the northeasterly extension of the northwest right -
of -way line of Old Brownsville Road;
THENCE S 430 05' 20" W along said northwest right -
of -way line a distanco of 971.98 feet to a point
of beginning;

THENCE continuing S 43° 05' 20" W along the
northwest right -of -way line of Old Brownsville
Road a distance of 1993.94 feet to a point;
THENCE_N 51° 36' 25" W along the southwest line
of Lot 3, Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks a
distance of 1479.05 feet to a point;
THENCE East across Lot 3, Block 9, J.C. Russell
Farm Blocks a distance of 1013.06 feet to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 536.88 feet to a point
said point lying in the west line of Lot 4, Block 9,
J.C. Russell Farm Blocks;
THENCE East across Lot 4, Block 9, J.C. Russell
Farm Blocks a distance of 1507.62 feet to the point
of beginning, forming a tract of land embracing
36.769 acres, more or less.
DRILLING BLOCK 877
Being a tract of land situated in Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas having been designated City of Corpus Christi Drilling
Block 877, as established by Ordinance 8879 of the City of
Corpus Christi as adopted on May 29, 1968; comprised of the
Johns Industrial Subdivision as shown on the plat thereof
recorded in Volume 30 at Page 1 of the Map Records of Nueces
County, Texas and keing more particularly described by metes
and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the intersection'of the centerline
of Navigation Blvd. with the centerline of BEAR
LANE;
THENCE North along the centerline of Navigation
Blvd. a distance of 1351.77 feet to a point where
the centerline of Navigation Blvd. is intersected
by the westerly extension of the north line of
Lot 5 of said Johns Industrial Subdivision;
THENCE East along the said westerly extension
and the north line of Lots 5 and 4, Johns Industrial
Subdivision a distance pf 561.63 feet to a point;
THENCE S 510 36' 25" E along the northeast line
of Lots 4 and 3, Johns Industrial Subdivision a
distance of 1479.05 feet to a point in the north-
west right -of -way line of Old Brownsville Road;
THENCE S 430 05' 20" W along the northwest right -
of -way line of Old Brownsville Road and its south-
westerly extension a distance of 591.12 feet to a point
on the centerline of BEAR LANE;
THENCE S 890 56' 00" W along the centerline of BEAR
LANE a distance of 1325.15 feet to the point of
beginning, forming a tract of land embracing 39.142
acres, more or less.

DRILLING BLOCK 876
Being a tract of land situated in Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas having been designated City of Corpus Christi Drilling
Block 878, as established by Ordinance 8879 of the City of Corpus
Christi as adopted May 29, 1968; comprised of a portion of Lot 4,
Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks as shown on the plat thereof
recorded in Volume 28 at Pages 58 and 59 of the Map Records of
Nueces County, Texas and being more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:.
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of
a 40 foot dedicated road along the north side of
Lot 4, Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks and the
northeasterly extension of the northwest right -of-
way line of Old Brownsville Road;
THENCE S 430 05' 20" W along the northwest right -
of -way line of Old Brownsville Road a distance of
971.98 feet;
THENCE West across Lot 4, Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm
Blocks a distance of 1507.62 feet to*a point in the
west line of Lot 4, Block 9, J.C. Russell Farm Blocks;
THENCE North along the west line of Lot 4, Block 9,
J.C. Russell Farm Blocks a distance of 709.83 feet
to a point on the centerline of the 40 foot road;
THENCE East along the centerline of said 40 foot
road a distance of 2152.89 feet to the point of
beginning forming a tract of land embracing
29.977 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, one time, which
publication shall contain the caption, stating in substance
the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase or provision of this Ordinance
shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provi-
sions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi to which these rules and regulations relate.
SECTION 4. The necessity for immedlately amending the
descriptions of Drilling Blocks 875, 876, 877 and 878, as
designated by Ordinance No. 8879, creating a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council and the Mayor, having declared that such
public emergency and imperative public necessity exist, and
having requested that such Charter Rule be suspended and
that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDINATED, this the day of 1970.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
