MENDENHALL CORPORATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF REPAIRS TO LINDALE COMMUNITY CENTER AS RESULT OF HURRICANE CELIA DAMAGE; APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY 4295, $17,694, OF WHICH $17,664 IS FOR THE BASE BID AND $30 FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1, ALL APPLICABLE TO JOB NO. 4295 -63; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE 15 HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A CONTRACT WITH JACK R. MENDENHALL CORPORATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF REPAIRS TO THE LINDALE COMMUNITY CENTER, DAMAGED DURING HURRICANE CELIA, SAID CONSTRUCTION TO BE AS MORE FULLY SET OUT IN THE PLANS AND SPECIFICA- TIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY, ALL OF WHICH ARE MADE A PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE, AND ACCORDING TO THE BID OF JACK R. MENDENHALL CORPORATION, OPENED ON THE 6TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1971, THE SAID BID OF JACK R. MENDENHALL CORPORATION BEING THE LOWEST AND MOST ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF THE N0. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY 4295, THE SUM OF $17,694, OF WHICH $17,664 IS FOR THE BASE BID AND $30 IS FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1, ALL PLICABLE TO JOB N0. 4298 -63. SECTION 3. Corpus Christi, Texas /9th. day of 191-1— L' TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. n Respectfully, THE CITY OFICORPUVCHRIOZI, TEXAS The Charter rule was suspended by the following -cote: Jack R.
