AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE'NO. 10095, PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 3, 1971, SO AS TO
CORRECTLY IDENTIFY THE PROPERTY PROPOSED TO BE
REZONED FROM "R -16" ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO
"AB" PROFESSIONAL OFFICE DISTRICT AS BEING LOTS 5
THROUGH 15, BLOCK 5, SUNSET PLACE, IN THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; KEEPING IN
EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE SAID ORDINANCE
NO. 10095; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, SOUTHWESTERN OIL P REFINING COMPANY MADE APPLICATION FOR
CHANGE OF ZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES OWNED BY THE SAID COMPANY; AND
MEREAS, THE APPLICATION WAS SUBMITTED AND CONSIDERED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON FEBRUARY 3, 1971; AND
WHEREAS, THE SAID CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZED CHANGE OF ZONING FROM
"R -1B" ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "AB" PROFESSIONAL OFFICE DISTRICT
ON THAT PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS LOTS 5 THROUGH 15, BLOCK 15, SUNSET PLACE,
IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AND
WHEREAS, IT HAS BEEN CALLED TO THE ATTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
THAT THE ORDINANCE PURPORTING TO CHANGE THE ZONING OF THE PROPERTY AS
REQUESTED ERRONEOUSLY DESCRIBED THE PROPERTY AS BLOCK 151 SUNSET PLACE,
AND SAID PROPERTY IS ACTUALLY IN BLOCK 5, SUNSET PLACE, AND THE CITY
COUNCIL DESIRES TO CORRECT THE AFORESAID ERRONEOUS DESCRIPTION IN ORDINANCE
No. 10095, PASSED AND APPROVED ON FEBRUARY 3, 1971:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE No. 10095, PASSED AND APPROVED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 31 1971, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED
SO AS TO CORRECTLY IDENTIFY THE PROPERTY PROPOSED TO BE REZONED BY SOUTH-
WESTERN OIL & REFINING COMPANY AS LOTS 5 THROUGH 15, BLOCK 51 SUNSET PLACE,
AND NOT AS LOTS 5 THROUGH 15, BLOCK 15, SUNSET PLACE, IN THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS.
SECTION 2. THAT EXCEPT AS HEREBY AMENDED, ORDINANCE No. 10095
SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
SECTION 3. ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY REPEALED. `
SECTION 4. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY CORRECTLY IDENTIFY THE
PROPERTIES ON WHICH ZONING IS TO BE GRANTED CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND

AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE
THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH
EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE
CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE 10TH DAY OF FEBRUARY,
1971.

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
bd passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I. therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
