HomeMy WebLinkAbout10133 ORD - 03/03/19713- 3- 71:mvl TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH MAYFIELD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF HURRICANE CELIA DAMAGE REPAIRS TO WEST GUTH PARK COMFORT STATION NO. 1; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND, ACTIVITY 4298, THE SUM OF $4,393 FOR SAID CONTRACT, IN CONNECTION WITH JOB NO. 102 - 4298 -74C; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, a contract with Mayfield Construction Company for Hurricane Celia damage.to 71 West Guth Park Comfort Station No. 1, all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference, and according to the bid of Mayfield Construction Company, opened on the 24th day of February, 1971, the said bid of Mayfield Construction Company, being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 102 General Fund, Activity 4298, the sum of $4,393 for the aforesaid repairs, applicable to job No. 102 - 4298 -74C. SECTION 3. The necessity to repair damages to West Guth Park Comfort Station No.l, damaged by Hurricane Celia, creates a public emer- gency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date,of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the. day of l/l)��.a-�-- 6 , 1971-.
