AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ,
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 61o6, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
VISION, INC., BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING
THE ZONING ON TRACTS A AND 6, SITUATED IN THE 1300
BLOCK OF SARATOGA BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "R -1B" ONE FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT TO "B_ 4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT;
AND BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON TRACTS C AND D, LOCATED
SOUTH OF THE N.A.S. RAILROAD TRACKS AND APPROXIMATELY
300 FEET WEST OF LOS ROBLES STREET, IN THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "R -1B "'
ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "1 -2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL
DISTRICT; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE
EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WEREAS, THE PLANNING COIIM15SION HAS FORWARDED TO THE CITY
COUNCIL ITS REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE APPLICATION OF
VISION INC. FOR AMENDMENT
TO THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND
WHEREAS, PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD AT WHICH HEARING ALL PERSONS
WISHING TO APPEAR AND BE HEARD WERE HEARD, TO CONSIDER THE SAME BEFORE
TILE CITY COUNCI L' OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROPER
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC, SAID PUBLIC HEARING HAVING BEEN HELD ON
MARCH 22, 1971 , AT SPECIAL COUNCIL NIECT114G OF THE CITY
COUNCIL 114 THE COUNCIL CHAMBER AT CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRI'ST1; AND
WHEREAS, BY MOTION DULY MADE, SECONDED AND CARRIED, IT WAS
DECIDED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT TO APPROVE THE HEREINAFTER SET FORTH
AMENDMENT WOULD BEST SERVE PUBLIC HEALTH, NECESSITY AND CONVENIENCE AND
THE GENERAL WELFARE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND ITS CITIZENS:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF.THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS, PASSED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 19371 APPEARING OF
RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ, OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION
RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, AND IN,PARTICULAR AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, DE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY
MAKING THE CHANGE. HEREINAFTER SET OUT.

SECTION 2. THAT THE ZONING OF TRACTS A AND B, SITUATED IN
THE 1300 BLOCK OF SARATOGA BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY CHANGED FROM "R -1B"
ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "13-4" GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT; AND
THAT THE ZONING OF TRACTS C AND D, SITUATED SOUTH OF THE N.A.S. RAILROAD
TRACKS AND APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET WEST OF LOS ROBLES STREET, IN THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM "R -1B" ONE• FAMILY DWELLING
DISTRICT TO "1 -2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, SAID TRACTS BEING MORE
FULLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
TRACT -A.
A 19 -acre tract out of the Rincon del Oso Grant, Abstract No. 1,
Nnecos County, Texas, and being part of a 508. 37 -acre tract known as the Wm.
J. Robertson Tract, and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northeast right -of -way of Saratoga Blvd. ,
said point being in the southeast boundary of a 203. 26 acre - tract, out of the
Wm. J. Robertson 508.37 -acre tract.
Thence North 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds East, 720 feet,
Thence South 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 1150 feet,
Thence South 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds West, 720 feet,
Thence North 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 1150 feet to the place
of beginning.
TRACT B.
A 19 -acre tract out of the Rincon del Oso Grant, Abstract No. 1,
Nueces County, Texas, and being part of a 508. 37 -acre tract known as
the Wm. J. Robertson Tract, and more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the northeast right -of -way of Saratoga Blvd.,
said point lying South 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 1250 feet, from the
southeast boundary of a 203. 26 -acre tract out of the Wm. J. Robertson
508.37 -acre tract,
Thence North 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds East, 720 feet,
Thence South 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 1150 feet,
Thence South 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds West, 720 feet,
Thence North 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 1150 feet to the place
of beginning.

A 20.5 -acre tract out of the Rincon del Oso Grant, Abstract
No. 1, Nueces County, Texas, and being part of a 508. 37 -acre tract
known as the Wm. J. Robertson Tract, and more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southeast boundary of a 203. 26 -acre
tract out of the Wm. J. Robertson 508. 37 -acre tract and the northwest
boundary of the said 508. 37 -acre tract, and the southwest boundary line
of the Baldwin -Moore Farm Lots,
Thence with the northwest boundary line of the Wm. J. Robertson
508. 37 acre tract and the southwest boundary of the Baldwin -Moore Farm
Lots, South 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 900 feet,
Thence South 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds West, 990 feet,
Thence North 60 degrees 58 minutes West, 900 feet,
Thence North 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds East, 990 feet
to the place of beginning.
TRACT D.
An 8. 6 -acre tract out of the Rincon del Oso Grant, Abstract No. 1,
Nueces County, Texas, and being part of a 508. 37 -acre tract known as
the Wm. J. Robertson Tract, and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point which bears North 60 degrees 58 minutes West,
1000 feet from thQ southeast boundary of a 203. 26 -acre tract out of the
Wm. J. Robertson 508. 37 -acre tract and being in the northwest boundary
of the said 508. 37 -acre tract, and the southwest boundary line of the
Baldwin -Moore Farm Lots,
Thence with the northeast boundary of the Wm. J. Robertson 508.37 -
acre tract and the southwest boundary line of the Baldwin -Moore Farm
Lots, South 60 degrees 58 minutes East, 380 feet,
Thence South 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds West, 990 feet,
Thence North 60 degrees 58 minutes West, 380 feet,
Thence North 29 degrees 00 minutes 10 seconds East, 990 feet to the
place of beginning.
SECTION 3. THAT THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS, BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED AS HEREIN ORDAINED.
SECTION 4. THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND MAP OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, APPROVED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, AS
AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, EXCEPT AS HEREIN CHANGED, SHALL REMAIN IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
SECTION 5. THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON -'
FLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREDY EXPRESSLY REPEALED.

SECTION 6. THAT THE NECESSITY OF IMMEDIATELY MAKING AFORESAID
r,,HANGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING AT ALL TIMES A COMPREHENSIVE ZONING
ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND
AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE
OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ
AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING
DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXISTI AND HAVING REQUESTED
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED
FINALLY ON THZ DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL
FORCE AND EFFECT FROM A��N..Dy/ AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
