THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF.THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, PASSED ON THE 27Th DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEC, OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, AND IN- PARTICULAR AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY ANIE14DED BY MAKING THE CHANCE HEREINAFTER SET OUT. 10212 SECTION 2. THAT THE ZONING OF A PORTION OF LOT 6, OR A PORTION OF THE SOUTH ONE- FOURTH OF THE NORTH ONE - FOURTH OF SECTION C, PAISLEYS SUBDIVISION OF THE HOFFMAN TRACT, MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY CHANGED FROM "R -16" ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "B -1" NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT: A 0.41 -ACRE TRACT OUT OF THE SOUTH 1/4 OF THE NORTH 1/4 OF SECTION C, PAISLEY SUBDIVISION OF THE HOFFMAN TRACT, AS FILED IN NUECES COUNTY MAP RECORDS, A METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT A 3/4" IRON PIPE LOCATED ON THE WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF SPRING STREET, ALSO BEING THE MOST SOUTHEASTERLY CORNER OF LOT 10, BLOCK 1, VIRGINIA'PLACE #3, SUCH POINT BEING THE PLACE OF BEGINNING; THENCE SOUTH 28° 201 WEST FOR A DISTANCE OF 150 FEET TO A 3/4„ IRON PIPE, SUCH PIPE BEING THE MOST SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THIS TRACT; THENCE NORTH 61° 40, WEST, A DISTANCE OF -125 FEET TO MARK THE MOST SOUTHWESTERLY CORNER OF THIS TRACT, SUCH POINT ALSO LOCATED ON THE NORTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF GOLLIHAR ROAD; THENCE NORTH 28° 20' EAST FOR A DISTANCE OF 150 FEET TO A POINT FOR CORNER, SUCH POINT BEING THE MOST NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF THIS TRACT; THENCE SOUTH 61l I+O' EAST FOR A DISTANCE OF 125 FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. THAT THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED AS HEREIN ORDAINED. SECTION 4. THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND MAP OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, APPROVED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, EXCEPT AS HEREIN CHANGED, SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. SECTION 5. THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY REPEALED. SECTION 6. THAT THE NECESSITY OF IMMEDIATELY MAKING AFORESAID CHANGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING AT ALL TIMES A COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING -2- DECLARED THAT SUCH E14ERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THZ DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE /A,& DAY ATTEST: CITY SECRLTARY APPROVED: �� OF 071 I �- CITY A T T94AE Y MAYOR TtIE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS fP,� -Eo PSS li Q Corpus Christi, Texas IAXday of O1v 19 7/' TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
