The original specifications shall remain in force as shown in the original contract documents. Item A -48 - Raise Threshold Lights. Delete entire item. Item A -51 - Relocate Threshold Fixtures. Threshold fixtures and transformers shall be relocated to new L -809 base as required. Item A -52 - Reorient Existing Threshold Light Bases. Threshold light bases shall be reoriented as required to obtain straight through duct run. Item A -53 - Install 1 -1/2 inch PVC Conduit. and Conduit shall comply with Federal Specification L- C700740- ,Item A -53B GSA -FSS and shall be approved by the Engineer prior to its use. Item A -54 - Counterpoise #6 AWG Bare Copper Stranded. and Bare copper wire for counterpoise installations shall be i Item A -54B #6 copper stranded wire conforming to ASTM Designations B -3 and B -8. Item A -55 - Install 1 -1/2 inch Split PVC Conduit. Conduit shall comply with Federal Specification L- C- 00740- GSA -FSS and shall be approved by the Engineer prior to its use. Remove Plan Sheets 22 and 28 of 38 originally issued and substitute revised Sheets 22 and 28 of 38 attached herewith. These sheets supersede those pre- viously issued and hereby become a part of the Construction Plans. i Sheet 3 of 8 DESCRIPTION OF REVISIONS TO THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATED QUANTITIES FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 ITEM A - 2A - Unclassified Excavation for Runway and Taxiway Extension A decrease of 1,630 cubic yards is required due to the revised grades for the blast pads for Runway 17 -35 as shown on the revised sheet 28 of 38 attached herewith. The revised grades are also part of this Change Order. ITEM A - 5A - Remove Old Pavement This item was increased by 37,951 square yards due to the removal of addi- tional pavement which was in poor condition. ITEM A - 7A - Lime Treated Subgrade This item was increased 2,261 square yards due to actual calculations of the area. ITEM A.- 7B - NON FAAP - Lime Treated Subgrade This item was increased 541 square yards as described in Item A - 7A. ITEM A - 8A - Lime for Subgrade Treatment This item increased 205 tons due to the increase from 3 %, as originally cal- culated, to 5% as specified. ITEM A - 8B - NON FAAP - Lime for Subgrade Treatment An increase of 49 tons of lime was required as described under Item A - 8A above. ITEM A - 9 - Aggregate Bituminous Base Course As a major item this item was re- negotiated due to an increase in excess of 25 %. The re- negotiated amount is shown under the new Item A -9b below. This item (A -9) was increased 25% or 8,755 tons due to the additional removal of old pavement (Item A -5A) and due to the fIct the bulk specific gravity of the aggregate is 2.43 requiring an increase of 0.05 which was not originally estimated. G Sheet 4 of 8 ITEM A - 9b - Aggregate Bituminous Base Course This new item is incorporated due to the re- negotiated unit price of Item A -9 from $6.35 per ton to $6.23 per ton as explained under Item A -9. The total :amount required for this item (A -9b) is 15,828 tons and is also due to the additional removal of old pavement and the low bulk specific gravity describ- ed under Item A -9 above. ITEM A - 10 - Bituminous Material for Aggregate Bituminous Base Course This item increased 115,788 gallons due to the increase described under Items A -9 and A -9b. ITEM A - 15A - Bituminous Prime Coat This item increased 7,432 gallons due to the additional removal of old pave- ment (Item A -5A) requiring additional prime for the new pavement. ITEM A - 15B - NON FAAP - Bituminous Prime Coat This item increased 1,760 gallons as described under Item A -15A above. ITEM A - 16A - Bituminous Tack Coat This item increased 779 gallons due to additional areas requiring tack coat which were not originally calculated. ITEM A - 16B - Bituminous Tack Coat This item increased 41 gallons as described under Item A -16A above. ITEM A - 24A - Marking and Striping This item increased 21,180 square feet due to the change in the marking con- figuration for Runway 13 -31 as shown on Sheet 22 of 38 attached herewith. ITEM A - 24B - NON FAAP - Marking and Striping This item increased 2,820 square feet as described in Item A -24A above. ITEM A - 25 - Cable Trench 6" Wide This item increased a total of 1,650 linear feet. The following is an explan- ation of the increases which make up the total: 1) An increase of 600 linear feet due to the removal and reinstallation of guidance signs and taxiway lights which were within the construction area. 2) An increase of 950 linear feet due to the reinstallation of threshold lights in the blastpads requiring installation of new D.E.B. cable. 3) Increased 100 linear feet due to trench required for installation of electrical cable around blast pad at west end of Runway 13 -31. Sheet 5 of 8 ITEM A - 25B - NON FAAP - Cable Trench 6" Wide _This item increased 280 linear feet due to trench required for installation of electrical cable around blast pad at west end of Runway 13 -31. ITEM A - 26 - Underground Cable No. 8- Single 3000 This item increased 600 linear feet due to the removal and reinstallation of guidance and taxiway signs which were within the construction area. ITEM A - 27 - Underground Cable No. 8- Single 5000 This item increased 2,030 linear feet due to the reinstallation of threshold lights in the blast pads requiring installation of new cable. An additional 100 linear feet is required for the relocation of the cable around the blast pad at west end of Runway 13 -31. ITEM A - 27B - NON FAAP - Underground Cable No. 8- Single 5000 This item increased 290 linear feet for relocation of new cable around blast pad at west end of Runway 13 -31. ITEM A - 31 - Extension of Two -Way Four Inch Duct Bank This item increased 80 linear feet due to additional length required at each location in order to reach grade at the shoulders. The unit has also been changed from per fifteen foot section to per linear foot calculated from the bid price. ITEM A - 32 - Three Way Four Inch Electrical Duct Bank This item increased 10 linear feet due to additional length required to reach grade at the shoulders. ITEM A - 33 - Fifteen Foot Extension of Existing Three Way Four Inch Duct Bank This item increased 80 linear feet due to additional length required to reach grade at shoulders. The unit has also been changed from per fifteen foot section to per linear foot calculated from the bid price. ITEM A - 34 - Fifteen Foot Extension of Existing Four Way Four Inch Duct Bank This item has increased 45 linear feet due to additional length required to reach grade at the shoulders. The unit has also been changed from per fifteen foot section to per linear foot calculated from the bid price. Sheet 6 of 8 ITEM A - 35 - Fifteen Foot Extension of Existing Sixteen [day Four Inch Duct Bank This item increased 10 linear feet due to an additional length required to reach grade at the shoulder. The unit has also been changed from per fifteen foot section to per linear foot calculated from the bid price. ITEM A - 36A - Relocate 2 Unit Taxiway Guidance Signs This item was increased by 4 due to the fact that they were located too close to the construction area. Therefore they had to be removed prior to construct- ion in the area and then reinstalled after completion of construction and at the same location. Two of these signs are located adjacent to Taxiway G, one at Taxiway H, and one at Taxiway J. ` ITEM A - 38 - Relocate Existing Stake Mounted Taxiway Lights Three additional lights were removed and reinstalled due to their location with- in the construction area. ITEM A - 48 - Raise Threshold Lights This item has been deleted due to the additional Item Numbers A -51, A -52, A -53 and A -53B described below. ITEM A - 51 (New Item) - Relocate Threshold,Fixture and Transformer to New L -809 Base Total Quantity - 8 each at $183.00 per unit. This item is required to install the lights in the new blast pad at Runway End 17. ITEM*A - 52 (New Item) - Reorient Existing Threshold Light Bases Total Quantity - 16 each at $93.00 per unit. This item was required in order to obtain a straight through duct run. ITEM A - 53 (New Item) - Install 1 -1/2 Inch PVC Conduit Total quantity - 680 linear feet at $2.88 per linear foot. This item is re- quired in order to install the threshold lights within the blast pads. ITEM A - 53B (New Item) - NON FAAP - Install 1 -1/2 Inch PVC Conduit Total quantity 160 linear feet at $2.88 per linear foot. This item quantity wis' calculated from the outer threshold lights to five feet from the edge of the blast pads which is not eligible for FAA participation. ITEM A - 54 (New Item) - Counterpoise #6 AWG Bare Copper Stranded. Total quantity 100 linear feet at $0.35 per linear foot. This item is required for the relocation of the cable around the blast pad at west end of Runway 13 -31. Sheet 7 of 8 ITEM A - 54B (New Item) - NON FAAP - Counterpoise #6 AWG Bare Copper Stranded. Total Quantity 290 linear feet at $0.35 per linear foot. This item is required for the relocation of the cable around the blast pad at west end of Runway 13 -31. ITEM A - 55 (New Item) - NON FAAP - Install 1 -1/2 inch split PVC Conduit concrete Encased Total quantity 100 linear feet at $4.14 per linear foot.
