ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS QUITCLAIMING AN AREA CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY .528 ACRES ON AND ALONG A PORTION OF DAN REID AND RINCON STREETS, IN EXCHANGE FOR QUITCLAIM DEED FROM THE U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY .572 ACRES ON AND ALONG A PORTION OF DAN REID AND RINCON STREETS, AS MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A QUITCLAIM DEED TO THE U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS QUITCLAIMING THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED TRACT: L BEGINNING AT A POINT WHICH IS THE INTERSECTION OF THE CENTERLINES OF DAN REID STREET AND RINCON STREET; THENCE S. 78° 43'00" W. 64.87 FEET TO A POINT ALONG THE CENTERLINE OF DAN REID STREET; THENCE N. 65° 17100" W. 142.31 FEET TO A POINT WHICH IS THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF PROPERTY; THENCE N. 11° 17100" W. 100.00 FEET TO A POINT WHICH IS THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THIS PROPERTY; THENCE N. 78, 43100" E. 75.00 FEET TO A POINT ALONG THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS PROPERTY LINE; THENCE S. 11° 17100" E. 50.00 FEET TO A POINT WHICH IS A CORNER OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS PROPERTY LINE; THENCE N. 78' 43100" E. 105.00 FEET ALONG THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS PROPERTY LINE TO A POINT ON THE CENTERLINE OF RINCON STREET; THENCE S. 11° 17100" E. 133.65 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. THIS AREA CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY .528 ACRES. SECTION 2. THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO DELIVER THE SAID QUITCLAIM DEED TO THE U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS UPON DELIVERY OF A QUITCLAIM DEED FROM THE U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OF THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED TRACT: BEGINNING AT A POINT IN CENTERLINE OF DAN REID STREET WHICH IS 1801 N. 78' 43" E. FROM THE INTERSECTION OF CENTERLINES OF DAN REID STREET AND RINCON STREET; THENCE N. 33° 431 00" E. 95.40 FT. TO A POINT ON THE CONCRETE BULKHEAD; THENCE S. 62° 431 51" E.•111.59 FT. ALONG THE CONCRETE BULKHEAD TO A POINT ALONG THE EAST PROPERTY LINE; 10230 THENCE S. 9' 101 0011 E. 128.0 FT. ALONG EAST BULKHEAD TO A POINT WHICH IS THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PROPERTY; THENCE S. 78' 431 0011 W. 150.00 FT. ALONG PROPERTY LINE TO A POINT WHICH 15 THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THIS PROPERTY; THENCE N. 11° 171 0011 W. 130.00 FT. TO THE CENTER LINE OF DAN REID STREET WHICH IS THE POINT OF BEGINNING. THIS AREA CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY .572 ACRES. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO QUITCLAIM THE AFORESAID PARCEL TO THE U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS IN EXCHANGE FOR QUITCLAIM FROM THE SAID U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER THAT THE SAME MAY BE FILED OF RECORD CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE rQDAY OF y , 1971.
