EXPRESSING ENDORSEMENT OF SENATE BILL 862 PENDING IN
THE 62ND LEGISLATURE, 1971 BY SENATOR RONALD BRIDGES
GRANTING TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADDITIONAL
TIME IN WHICH TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ON CERTAIN SUB-
MERGED AND UNSUBMERGED LAND IN THE "CAYO DEL OSO"
GRANTED TO THE CITY BY ARTICLE 5421K -3, V.T.C.S.
WHEREAS, ARTICLE 5421K -3, V.T.C.S., GRANTS TO THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI CERTAIN SUBMERGED AND UNSUBMERGED LAND IN THE CAYO DEL OSO; AND
WHEREAS, ARTICLE 5421K -3 PROVIDES THAT THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
HAS UNTIL JULY 1, 1971 TO MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS ON SAID LAND; AND
WHEREAS, IF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRIST HAS NOT MADE SAID IMPROVE-
MENTS ON SAID LAND IT WILL REVERT TO THE STATE; AND
WHEREAS, THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI IS DESIROUS OF MAKING SAID

IMPROVEMENTS PROVIDED THAT ADDITIONAL TIME IS PROVIDED THEREFOR:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:

SECTION 1. THAT PUBLIC RECORD BE MADE OF THE FACT THAT THIS CITY
COUNCIL FAVORS AND ENDORSES THE GRANTING TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADDI-
TIONAL TIME IN WHICH TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ON CERTAIN SUBMERGED UNSUB-
pAND
MERGED LAND IN THE CAYO DEL OSO AS PROVIDED FOR IN SENATE BILL 862, PENDING
IN THE 62ND LEGISLATURE, 1971, BY SENATOR RONALD BRIDGES, AND THE CITY COUNCIL
DOES HEREBY ENDORSE SAID BILL.
SECTION 2. THAT THIS CITY COUNCIL HEREBY DECLARES THE INTENTION
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ON CERTAIN SUBMERGED AND
UNSUBMERGED LAND IN THE CAYO DEL OSO GRANTED TO THE CITY BY THE STATE BY
ARTICLE 5421K -3, V.T.C.S., PROVIDED THAT ADDITIONAL TIME IS GRANTED TO-THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR MAKING SAID IMPROVEMENTS AS PROVIDED IN THE ABOVE
CITED BILL.
SECTION 3. THAT THE CITY SECRETARY IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO FURNISH
COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI DELEGATION TO
THE 62ND LEGISLATURE CURRENTLY MEETING IN AUSTIN, TEXAS.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 1;y DAY OF 1971.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative ndeessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
