HomeMy WebLinkAbout10245 RES - 04/21/19714/21/71 ;e A RESOLUTION r S7 ;, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN APPLI- CATION AND FILE SAID APPLICATION IN THE APPROPRIATE STATE OFFICE FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING CERTAIN FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE FEDERAL DISASTER ACT (PUBLIC LAW 875, 81ST CONGRESS, AS AMENDED, AND PUBLIC LAW 79, 91ST CONGRESS);AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, on the 4th day of August, 1970, the President of the United States declared a "major disaster" in the State of Texas under the provisions of Public Law 875, 81st Congress, as amended, and Public Law 79, 91st Congress; and WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is a public entity #� within said State; and •,.• }c,ei WHEREAS, on the 5th day of August, 1970, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi adopted Resolution No. 9879, requesting ti r aid from the appropriate Federal agencies: ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: That R. Marvin Townsend, City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and he is hereby authorized to execute for and in behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, a public entity established under the laws of the State of Texas, this appli- cation and to file it in the appropriate State Office for the purpose of obtaining certain Federal financial assistance under the Federal Disaster Act (Public Law 875, 81st Congress, as amended, and Public Law 79, 91st Congress).
